The Absurdity of Politics and the Media Coverage

I have expressed numerous times in personal moments with others and on the net my personal disgust with both politicians and the media. Now I will be the first to scream that this election has started way too early and has debated itself into obscurity. But Thursday’s Republican debate with the minority forum was a good example for my disgust. To start with, the four major Republican contenders, McCain – Romney – Giuliani and Thompson, found excuse-me reasons to exclude themselves from the debate. And their nonattendance is similar to saying “We have no interest in listening to your concerns”. It was insulting to the voters and their own Party. Their actions were inexcusable. The four have been plainly and justly chastised by many in their own party and the media.

And of course the media has had trouble finding the “forest for the trees that are in the way” in looking at the debate. Before writing this post I decided to see what the media had to say about the event. Not much! I tried the local sites first, crapola! So I went to the Internet. There were untold stories across the Internet about all the predebate hype concerning the lack of attendance by the Big4. But as I scanned the Internet to read analysis of the debate most of the few available debate articles content centered not on what those candidates who attended had to say, but instead spent most of the time talking about the Big4 who did not attend. What a lost opportunity to allow the lesser-known candidates to display that they were deserving of coverage. No, the media sources instead preferred to talk about the no-shows rather than the candidates that showed up to apply for the job opening. Since the Big4 did not show the press seemed uninterested in what anyone else had to say. I think the overall debate coverage is best described by the last lines of a short say-nothing NY Post article that said; “You can watch what the candidates who were there had to say at the PBS Site” (Along with a link.) and also included a line that stated; “The Washington Post also covered the event.”(Along with another link.) My personal thoughts are: Wow, that was some great reporting and interest showed toward the debate and the candidates that had proved their worthiness by attending while trying to get their message to the public!!!!! NOT!!!!!

What a huge disservice to the USAmerican voters by the Big4 debate no-shows and the media who in essence, noncovered the debate!

The most useless and repulsive show I have ever seen on TV

I cannot not remember the last time I watched a television program that was as completely comprised of trash as my recent viewing of Spike TV’s MANswer program. I came across the show during one of my sleep inducing program searches. The show was evidently supposed to be about questions men normally felt uncomfortable asking. Hmm, It wasn’t funny, it wasn’t inspiring and it wasn’t even entertaining in any way that I could see. Heck it couldn’t even induce sleep. From my time spent trying to understand the show I was informed on the best way to spot a narc, that the best way to avoid a company drug test is to invest in a phony male organ hooked up to an expelling pouch for storing someone else’s urine (that’s a good plan use one of your fellow druggies urine) that you wear around your waste, that it is best not drink around eighteen beers in a setting you will probably die from alcohol poisoning (okay that one is good information for some of the drunks I have known over the years, not that they would listen to the advice), if a woman is bitchy the best way to calm her down is to have unprotected sex as the semen carries an antidepressant hormone… The following link gives a much better explanation/review that I can – MANswer review. How this show got past the sensors I will never know. It was worse than being around a roomful of drunken young men trying to one up each other with their sexual comprehension, drinking abilities and drug exploits. No Thank You, I have been around those crazy groups more than once! It has to be the most useless and repulsive show I have ever watched.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Assembly at Columbia University

This is a follow up of my previous post about the recent speaking engagement by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at Columbia University. The NY Times posted slices of the dialogue on it’s website in reverse chronology. From my readings of the NY Times information and various other media reported events it sounded like Columbia University President Lee Bollinger, who has been heavily criticized for allowing Ahmadinejad the opportunity to speak on the campus, verbally scalded the Iranian leader for his many political shortcomings. Bollinger alluded to the Iranian Government’s lack of civil liberties and ruthless treatment of women, gays, political/journalistic opposition and his denial of the Jewish Holocaust facts and Iranian terrorist connections. The following Bollinger concluding statement of his introduction of Ahmadinejad was almost prophetic: “Frankly, and in all candor Mr. President, I doubt that you will have the intellectual courage to answer these questions, but your avoiding them will in itself be meaningful to us. I do expect you to exhibit the fanatical mind-set that characterizes what you say and do.“

Most of Ahmadinejad’s speech was as predicted, nonsense. He dodged answering questions about the Holocaust and terrorist connections by attacking the US and Israel. And he suggested that Iran under his guidance was a bastion for freedom of thought. He must of forgotten about his recent closing of a website that was a critic of the government. However student activism is justly rewarded with trumped up trials and a proper execution, no extra charge for the torture, I presume. Nor does he seem to remember the various rounds of educational cleansing. (Maybe Alzheimers is setting in.) No problem with drug addicts either, they just hang them. Here is a link to various other posts on Kamangir Archer’s blog pertaining to Iran and human rights. And I believe Ahmadinejad when he says they have no homosexuals in Iran. But it isn’t the laughing matter the Columbia crowd found it. My guess is that if they haven’t already been hanged on trumped up charges they are in hiding or have fled the country. And his government sure knows how to treat women right! Except maybe you might want to be properly dressed if you need hospital services. And they will gladly assist the women needing help with proper Iranian fashion sense by arresting them for dressing improperly. And if you are still having trouble with understanding proper Iranian fashion, the police will gladly help revitalize your memory with a first-rate bloody beating. And your husband shall see to your every need maybe even sell your body off to other men, of course outsiders might want to avoid helping out the woman less they get stoned. Of course remember adultery is a stoning offense, even if you are married to the man, if the judge refuses to acknowledge that you were married.

There is absolutely NO Doubt About IT, The Iranian government and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are all about giving Jews, Gays, Women, Activists and others human rights. But mostly those rights involve the right to get beaten or murdered.

New York Daily News: “The Evil Has Landed”

According to the NY Daily News –> “The Evil has Landed“. Very well put! The “Evil” is current Iranian Presidential Puppet Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the empty-headed front for the real EVIL – the power-wielding mullahs, which rule with stones and head removing axes from inside the Iranian Government Shadows. Amidst heavy US protestation he is set to speak at the UN and again at an assembly at Columbia University. Though I have no wish for a hate-mongering terrorist-supporting holocaust-denying fool such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to even set foot on US soil he has the legal right to enter and speak at the UN. And though we have the right to confine him to his residence and UN property, it makes sense to let him talk his lunacy at the college, even though I have already read some US sites slurping from his lunacy trough. I read his recent interview with CBS transcript and was underwhelmed by his propagandist nonsense and views blaming Israel as the root-of-all-evil. His one limited skill seemed to be a stratagem of avoiding questions he was afraid to answer. Since he has agreed to a Q & A session at Columbia University you would think that he should receive a proper grilling from the audience, I will not hold my breath waiting on that assumption to occur at any of the leftist ass-kissing institutions that our colleges have morphed into. Personally I think he arrived to speak at the proper time of the year. After all it is the end of the garden season and there should be plenty of rotten tomatoes and other vegetable to decorate up the “Evil One” after his speech. Now that would make a humorous photo-op session finishing the drivel that will be flowing from his mouth.

Television has Surpassed Theatre Box-Office Quality Options

A few years back I seem to remember listening to the actress Meg Tilly remark on a talk show about how she does not let her children watch television as she thought that the product was too poor of quality. She was not the first Hollywood personality or the last person, that I had heard that remark spew from their mouth (though it has not stopped her or any other Hollywood elitist from benefiting from the large paychecks offered for performing in the medium). As I was perusing the local movie guides this morning I thought to myself, as pervasive as much of the television programing is, it offers far more selectivity of programing fit for children than has longtime been available at the box office, which is where most of the Hollywood elitists prefer to make a very health paycheck. So I linked over to my favorite Internet site for movie information, IMDB, and scanned the top ten movies. The top-ten weekend box office summary looked similar in style of offerings in what has become normalcy for Hollywood production. I did not see one movie I would even consider taking a kid or a teenager to view. The top movie for the week, and also the second rehash of this summer of the original Bronson movie Death Wish, was The Brave One. It was preceded earlier by the other summer rehash, Death Sentence. The original and the two copycats are all about feelgood violence through vigilante justice. And the rest of the list was not any better. The list included movies about feelgood violence and irresponsible behavior glorification. It looks to me as if television has long passed the movie industry for offering positive selections especially of entertainment for children.

Ron Paul Followers, Anarchists and Communists, Party On!

Back on the Fourth of July QCExaminer ran a post about how some people in San Francisco were celebrating the USA Independence holiday. The post included a very informational link to the Zombie Time site that contained what I find very horrifying viewpoints of Independence celebration. While cruising the Internet today, I ran across another site with a link to the Zombie Time in which the Zombie Time was running a photo piece about San Francisco’s 9-11 Truth March followed by the Power to the Peaceful Festival. The links are slow loading if you are on dial-up service as I am, but they were worth the wait. The photo critique displays – that though I may live in the same country as those festival people in San Francisco, we definitely live in different Universes. All the groups in the photos were speaking of the need for truth (here I reiterate my often stated disbelief of the existence of truth) of and world peace (a great idea but historically fictional fantasy). Of course some of the groups, including the 9-11 truth movement, the Modesto anarchist “cook cops – rob banks” group and the various communist/fascist movements, would probably not know or understand “the truth” if it was laid out on a plate for them to see nor do many of them really worship peaceful coexistence. I did see the Ron Paul movement was represented at the festival. But that just makes his movement and many of the other “supposed” peace movements harder to believe when they are standing arm and arm with hate militants selling their guerrilla/anarchist propaganda and merchandise.

 

John Kerry POTUS Blues

Well what can you say about John Kerry other than he always seems to put himself in positions to politically self-destruct. What kind of future higher political aspirations can he expect after the recent tasering of the Florida student by university police. This was his choir and he was singing his tunes for them. Now my guess from what I have read is that the student is a troublemaker and needed removal, but not a taser induced breakdance. I do not like Kerry, and I do think he screwed the pooch at this event, but my guess is he will also get wrongfully hosed over from many directions with this event gone bad. His mistake was not having good control of the event. Kerry is attempting to distance himself from the incident, but this is the type of stink that clings to a politician even if they are innocent of any wrong doing. This will probably finish off any real future POTUS prospects he had left, if any. On the more bizarre side, I made the mistake of reading about it while on a Johnny Cash kick, which brought about one of my “Weird Al Yankovic” moments. So here is my version of John Kerry self-destructing to the tune of Folsom Prison Blues :

I see that campaign train leaving me – its rolling past, on the tracks

It’s jammed full of scoundrels and they ain’t looking back

I’m lost in Political Purgatory, future POTUS chances are look-ing blue

And that Democrat train keeps a rolling – towards Penn-sylvania Av-e-nue

When I was just a freshman – my advisors told me son

Always be a good guy, never play in public with your gun

But we tasered a student in Florida, just ta-watch him squirm

And now that train whistle’s blowing, as my POTUS chances burn

And You Thought You Were Having A Bad Day!

Most everyone seems to have those days when it seems that life is dealing to you from the bottom of the deck. Those are days where we just want to start pulling our hair by the roots while running down the streets screaming like a madman! Those days are frustrating, unbearable and are often caused by what seems like unsurmountable events of life. Well a 9/17/07 Reuters article reports that thirty-three year old Carlos Camejo and his wife, just had a really-really-really bad day in Caracas Venezuela. It started with a car wreck in which Mr. Camejo was pronounced dead and sent in for an autopsy. Fortunately for Mr. Camejo he was not dead! Unfortunately for Mr. Camejo, officials started an autopsy which they soon realized was probably not a good idea as the body started to bleed. OOPS!!! The procedure awakened Mr. Camejo – who now has a facial scar decoration from the examiners knife as a memory of his bad day. I am sure his grieving wife was elated over finding a live husband instead of a cold corpse when she arrived at the morgue to identify her husband’s body. Maybe they can get Hugo to spring for some good old plastic surgery for Mr. Camejo’s medical troubles. Hey – or maybe Mikey Moore could film the Camejo incident as an add-on clip for his movie Sicko’s DVD release! The event sure makes many of my bad days seem a whole lot smaller.

Article Claims Recent Israeli Bombing of Syria Was to Destroy Nuclear Weapon Cache

It has been over ten days since Israel dropped explosives on Syria. And both Israel and Syria seem to be holding back information over the details. Syria is claiming that the Israeli bombers were forced out of their airspace by Syrian forces but dropped munitions on a deserted region before exiting Syrian airspace. Israel is not saying much except they seem to be acting in a manner that suggests that their mission was successfully accomplished. I have read several hypotheses including that the Israelis were on an intelligence mission to that they were sending Syria and Iran threatening messages similar to the buzzing of Damascus sometime back. One explanation for the mission that seems to be getting a lot of Internet buzz, is that Israel bombed a Syrian weapons cache that contained North Korean nuclear weaponry headed for Hezbollah usage. A Times of London article goes fairly in depth on the reasoning and execution of the mission. If this were truly the case then it would help explain the less than you would expect knee-jerk, almost subdued, reaction from Syria over the intrusion. It also means that the stakes are increasing in the Middle East, as are the increasing chances of WW3 breaking out in the region sooner than later.

“Self-Proclaimed Innocent” OJ Simpson Arrested in Vegas on Felony Charges

In a follow up to my previous OJ Simpson Post: “Often self-claimed misunderstood” and “always self-claimed innocent almost-bystander” (RIGHTTTT! ), OJ Simpson, has been arrested in Las Vegas on felony charges of armed robbery and conspiracy charges to commit armed robbery following his recent removal at gunpoint of the former NFL stars sports memorabilia listed for sale by a broker of sports memorabilia. Simpson evidently took time away from his busy decade long schedule of searching for his ex-wife’s murderer on the golf courses around the country, to reclaim the merchandise (he claims is rightfully his) in a self-proclaimed sting operation he implemented at a Las Vegas hotel. Police seem to think it is more a robbery than a sting. Saturday night there was a previous arrest of an alleged accomplice on double counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and accompanying conspiracy charges. Ooops, a squealer!
The information that the robbery victim (and previous longtime business associate), Alfred Beardsley has went on record as sympathetic to Simpson and wishing to not press charges, makes the whole incident smell. Beardsley has previously had a longtime association with Simpson and the selling of Simpson memorabilia. It still leaves me wondering if this was Simpson and Beardsley attempting to sell merchandise under the nose of the court system to avoid any of the profit going towards the still unpaid multimillion-dollar civil suit Simpson lost to the Ron Goldman family, only to have something go sour between two scam-artists wannabes
