OMG – Australia to Censor Santa Claus?

According to an article on Yahoo! News, Santa Claus faces censorship in Sydney, Australia. OMG, has Santa said some naughty words in public? Say it ain’t so Joe! But yup, evidently Santa has taken it up on himself to speak inappropriately in front of children! According to the story, a spokesman for Westaff Recruitment has evidently informed its recruited Santa Claus personnel that they no longer recommend using the traditional Santa Claus greeting of “ho-ho-ho”. The company is afraid that the greeting might frighten children, as it is also slang terminology that refers to prostitutes in the US. Hmm, it must be the fault of Eddie Murphy’s Velvet Jones Ho-school skit. Yeahhh, that’s the ticket! Yup, absolutely-positively-unquestionably, no doubt in my mind, there can be no other possible reason: that just like in Louisiana, evidently an Eddie Murphy comedy sketch has once again created Cultural Mayhem, this time forcing the company to censor Santa! Yeah, it’s all Eddie’s fault! That can be their story and they can stick to it!
