Following this weeks Supreme Court decision to overturn a Washington DC law defying the Second Amendment by banning citizen handgun ownership, the Illinois Sate Rifle has filed a related suit to challenge a similar Chicago law banning the ownership of handguns. May the force be with them! The Supreme Court ruling has not went over well with Illinois Governor Rod Blagodabitch, who stated the ruling scared him or Chicago Mayor Richard Daly —> who doesn’t seem to mind that aldermen can carry weapons, it just bothers him that the citizens of his city might want the same protection. As the effects of the ruling picks up steam, it is evident that citizens across this nation will attempt to reclaim their gun ownership rights stolen by misguided politicians looking to pander to anti-gun lobbyist movements. It was good to see the Supreme Court get this ruling correct.
Hopefully the road to reclaiming our gun ownership rights from clowns like Blago and Daly has just become easier!!!!

Reclaiming the Second Amendment Right to Bear Arms
Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Gun Ownership
In a small but clear victory for the citizens of the USA, the Supreme Court has ruled against Big Brother Government attempts at eliminating the rights of self-preservation given to us through the Second Amendment. That amendment assures people the right to bear and own firearms. For years Big Government have tried to legislate away those rights. In this case it was ruled that the District of Columbia’s total ban on hand guns violated the rights give to USAmerican citizens under the Second Amendment. The ruling stated that the Constitution does not permit governments the absolute prohibition of weapons held and used for self-defense in the home. The decision still leaves a lot of unanswered issues in our constitutional given right to own weaponry but it was a victory for the people and a loss to places like Washington D.C. and Chicago that would strip the citizens of this country of the right to protect their family, friends, loved ones and themselves leaving them helpless against criminals. It is a small victory but a big step in the correct direction!!
Illinois to Slash Away Amtrak Funding?
Will the Quad City again feel the sting of Governor Blagodabitch’s budget slashing knife? With the State feeling a huge shortage of funds and the Gov and the legislature fighting over the directional flow of the money it has to spend, the Gov is talking about slashing money to the Amtrak trains systems. According to a Mike Riopell article, the Gov is talking about taking away $28 million in subsidies the State of Illinois provides to Amtrak, as part of his proposed budget cuts. An Amtrak official was quoted as saying that would lead to eliminating five Southern routes from Chicago plus the Quincy and Macomb Western Illinois services. Oops!
Sounds like possible egg on the face of someone – as it has just been months since Illinois legislators were championing the idea of adding a train run from Chicago to the Quad Cities. The article was unsure if the proposed cuts would also eliminate the anticipated train route linking the Quad Cities to Chicago. Of course if they eliminate five existing routes, adding a new route is not likely to be a popular move among those losing existing services. Not that slashing away promised Quad City Projects Funds has ever bothered the Gov before if it helps him keep his personal pet projects funded. The Tin God promise and the Tin God taketh away?
Political Speech Rhetoric and Poppycock
Inside every political testimonial are the hidden messages that the politician really meant to express. In no particular order, here are ten pieces of standard political rhetoric followed by their hidden meanings.
I bring the Truth –> I am twisting and/or distorting facts in the statement to project a positive image of my beliefs and image to get your vote.
I bring you Change –> I am offering you more of the same old tired B.S. packaged in a pretty new package: because the fact is that political change is impossible without complete removal of every politician that has been in the business for longer than five minutes.
I have the best interests of the citizens of this country in mind –> This ones gonna hurt bad, probably in your wallet.
I am not a crook –> This lie will be a whopper!!
I was unaware of what was happening –> I shut my eyes, ears and took a bottle of sleeping pills before the event occurred. When you see no-evil or hear no-evil then you claim that you cannot know any evil.
I have a political mandate from the people of this country –> I beat the other guy by a slim margin and plan on exploiting my victory to the fullest extent.
My opponent is wicked and bad for the direction of this country – If I am to bathe in the green-graft handed out by the special interest groups I have to throw my drinking buddy under the bus.
I am going to clean up politics –> I plan on harassing, attacking and pointing judgmental fingers at my opponents as long as I can get away with it.
My opponent is using dirty tricks to confuse my message –> His campaign B.S. is more interesting, getting more media time and/or having more effect than my campaign B.S.
My opponent is a worthy challenger –> If I directly challenge my opponent then I look like a ruthless individual, besides we both have skeletons in our closets to use against each other in emergency situations. That is the role of the 527′s.
Photographer Created Lost Amazon Tribe Hoax
The professional News Services have let their armor get tarnished once again. It seems that the recent News Story about finding a lost tribe in the Amazon Jungle was just a hoax perpetrated by a photographer looking to draw attention to logging practices and the industry’s effects on an already known Amazon Tribe. Too bad about the hoax, because the photographer tainted what would have been a story that is well worth world-wide debate concerning industrial encroachment on cultural customs. It is still a topic worthy of debate. However now this story and anything the photographer has to offer in the future will have the stench of fraud and deception. The story, photographer and news services all lose credibility. And the public becomes even more cynical about the news media industry.
Congressman Philobluster to Have Self-Serving Fireside Chat with His Peons
The 17th District of Illinois’ hand selected Congressmen, Phil Hare, is honoring (cough-choke-gag) the citizens of this district with a whole hour of telephone chat Monday night. To steal a quote from Monday Night Football –> Are You Ready for Some BS!!! (Okay, I changed the quote a little.) In what is sure to be an attempt at making himself look like FDR, instead of reality, what we will get is more local politburo propaganda. He wishes to look proactive and statuesque to the voters of this district, whom understands how Hare and the local Politburo bullied others and cheated Hare’s path into office. Of course if the Q&A session were really straight it might go something like this.
Question from Citizen X –> Congressman Philobluster, my family is hurting from the spike in oil prices what is the Congress going to do about it?
Congressman Philobluster –>Well cough – cough – cough -gag, mumble, mumble, mumble…. Bush’s fault…. Windfall profit tax big oil…. Bush’s fault…. Harass oil companies with expensive special sessions of congress…. Bush’s fault…. Raise taxes on fuel….Bush’s fault!
Question from Citizen Y –> But Mr. Philobluster won’t installing a windfall profit tax that was proved ineffective back in the 80′s only raise the cost of fuel and thus cause even more increases in costs of other goods similar to a VAT tax.
Congressman Philobluster –> Well, cough-cough-cough – gag, yes you are right the Windfall Profit tax is as useless as man-titties to a newborn baby. Mumble, mumble, mumble…. Bush’s fault…. Mumble, mumble, mumble…. Spank big oil…. Mumble, mumble, mumble…. Bush’s fault!
Question form Citizen T – There is a high influx of illegal aliens coming into this state and our country. The state of Illinois is almost two years behind in payments to medical physicians and hospital services yet the government at State and federal is doing nothing to control the invasion of illegal aliens that are increasing these costs. What are you going to do to stop the flow of illegal aliens into this state and country?
Congressman Philobluster – Well, cough – cough – cough -gag, uh well we have been discussing this with Congresswoman Pelosi. Mumble, mumble, mumble…. Bush’s fault….Mumble, mumble, mumble….Amnesty for illegal aliens….mumble, mumble, mumble….Bush’s fault! ………..
Congressman Philobluster – Let me close by saying this Republicans- Bad, Independents Bad, Democrats good, Bush Lied, Cheney Evil, Big Oil bad, Capitalism Bad, Phil Hare Good, Socialism good, bad things equal Bush’s fault, Phil Hare good.
And on and on and on and on. Now that is the useless Phil Hare Sock-Puppet that the local Democrat politburo forced upon us!
More Inexcusable Acts of Child Abuse
It was back in April when I posted about a Quad City event involving child torture. I guess because like most of us -my Parents gave a damn and treated their children as special- it surprises me when I read about parents individuals that abuse and torture children. Back in February a five-month-old child starved to death inside his Peoria parents home as they ignored him as he sat in a snowsuit, strapped in a baby car seat for eight days, after his grandmother dropped him off. More recently in Compton Ca., a mother, her lover and a babysitter were arrested for the torture of the mother’s five year old. The child had beating and burn marks on his body and was starved to the point of a swollen belly. And despite repeated red flags thrown up with social services the only reason the boy was rescued was because the child told a stranger about his mom burning his hand. What is wrong with these people, and I use the word people loosely in these situations!!! The crimes are so horrendous I cannot even think of a fitting punishment for individuals such as these cruel child torturers. It also makes me really appreciate the fact that I, like most children, had great parents whom nurtured and cared for me . And it makes me sad to think that there are those who have or are growing up in conditions of torture and neglect.
An Enduring Murder Defense – Blame the Victim
Listening to defense lawyers and their clients, every criminal is a good person and there are always extenuating circumstances as to why the client is not to blame. The “it’s not my fault” testimonial which is often part of a “blame the victim” defense always reminds me of an old David Frye joke revolving around Richard Nixon that goes; “I accept the responsibility but not the blame!”. Though funny in a comedy sketch, in real life it usually involves someone attempting to avoid accountability for a heinous crime they have committed. It is a sad statement of someone that is lacking remorse about the crime they have committed, but feeling extremely remorseful about getting caught. On Thursday a local young man just convicted of murdering his girlfriend in a jealous rage and then attempting to hide the body was trying to use the “blame the victim” because “it’s not my fault” defense in Rock Island Co. to avoid a lengthy prison term. His attempt to play the “blame the victim” struck me as particularly unrepentant with his statement: “If she wouldn’t have opened the door for me, this would have never happened“.
Huh! It is her fault for opening the door that he killed her. The unapologetic words speak for themselves and display that the judge was correct in handing down a sentence of 45 years. Perhaps 45 years will give the young man enough time to consider just where his responsibility fell in the heartbreaking circumstances of events. Then again, maybe not.
Pelosi Imprisons Illegal Immigration Bill In Political Limbo
One of my repeated arguments since I started blogging was a need for a viable third party to challenge the two-party systems dogma that binds up important legislation. One such instance is the current oil price dilemma. As an AP article pointed out, which QCExaminer linked to, talking about proposed solutions to the current energy crisis by both Democrats and Republicans; both parties are more interested in creating conflict to inflame their respective voting blocks than they are in solving the problem and reducing the voters misery!!!! Neither the Democrat Party nor the Republican Party wants voters that think! They want sheep that they can whip into a rage where they can herd the mindless voters in whatever direction they think will assure political subjugation of the USAmerican populace. Even more amazing, lately I have seen a several Democrat Bloggers admit that that is the strategy they have in mind for the fall election. Political conflict created by inciting the lemming-voters keeps the two-party system a monopoly and holds the legislation needed to to operate this country in gridlock. (For the short story skip to the last paragraph for the total rant- continue on.)
We are no strangers to leadership of lemmings techniques here in the 17th district of Illinois. We have been under total Democrat Rule in this district since the 1980′s. Two elections back we witnessed how the local Democrat Party disenfranchised voters in their own party by political shenanigans when twenty year congressman Lane Evans was too sick to run again. Despite Evans being sick for years they hid seriousness progression of the congressman’s illness until after the primaries, so they could bypass the Democrat Voters and choose a candidate by party insiders owing their political life to the Evans/Gianulis politburo. It worked like a charm. An Evans’ crony, Phil Hare, was selected by party hierarchy while for the first time in decades, this district had several really good Democrat choices that had been waiting in the wings for a chance to take their campaign messages to the voters. The local Democrat Party never allowed that to happen. Worse – it was giddily leaked that those in the party that had challenged Hare were being forced to kneel down and offer up contrition to the local party to save their political careers for having the audacity to run against Party handmaiden Phil Hare in the fixed election. When Phil Hare came up for re-election it was also leaked that anyone wishing to run against Phil Hare faced banishment from local Democrat Reindeer Games. The Republican Party is really no better, there are just so few Republicans in our District, we just do not get to see as much of their shenanigans.
This is the problem the USAmerican Voters face- two parties more interested in power politics and winning the election so they can fill their pockets with taxpayer gold than they are interested in helping our citizens. While Europe is actually working together to toughen laws by revising, punishing and controlling illegal immigration that will protect the countries and the immigrants- our current Congress, for political reasons, is hampering legislation to address the problem. Right Now House Leader Nancy Pelosi is sitting on a bill that could help this country solve the problems we face from illegal immigration overrun, by tightening up the borders. The bill was introduced by Democrat Heath Shuler and has widespread bipartisan support, probably more than enough to pass if allowed to be voted on. Shuler made the comment just a few months ago that none of the POTUS candidates were trying to address the illegal alien problem. I agree they are back to creating gridlock for political gain. They know the problem and that party insiders in the highest-ranking positions, like Peolsi, wish to avoid conflict – so they are keeping quite while on the political trail. House leader Pelosi has no plans to allow this bill through because it does not contain any amnesty for illegal aliens statutes, which could hurt election strategies with minorities related to the illegal aliens. So instead of allowing this measure to come up for a vote she is playing the part of the 800 lb gorilla by casting menacing glances and using threats of political castration if the majority of politicians, both Democrat and Republican, try and bring this legislation up for a vote. The Pelosi actions continue to point out that the Democrat party leadership is no more interested in solving any crisis than the Republicans that were just voted out of office. And since we have no viable third political party, as long as the lemming voters allow the Democrat and Republican leadership to run the country in this manner, they will.
