An 85 year old Pennsylvania woman took a bite out of crime recently when she caught a young would-be burglar in her house. After catching the young hoodlum wannabe she held him at gunpoint and forced him to call the police to come and arrest him! Classic! I realize this story is probably embarrassing for all the soft-on-crime spineless enablers in the world. Too bad so sad. This is a Granny that could have been part of my family. Except in my family’s case the grandmother would have been pointing a shotgun not a revolver. Go-granny-Go! Exercise you Second Amendment rights!

I loved the fact she forced HIM to call the police—I probably would have just shot him!
Even if the judge gives him a slap on the wrist, I’d be willing to be that kid will think twice before he does it again.
Yup QCEx I thought that part was classic.
I sure hope so Cruiser. I am tired of learning about kids that are destined for a life in prison.
For every case like this where a gun prevented a crime, I bet I could find 3 where the gun either enabled a crime, or made the outcome much worse for the gun-toter.
But those don’t make for funny headlines like this one.
I do not disagree that you will “hear” more stories where the gun owner wound up in a bad event. The media loves to tell those stories. But then you will not here much if the gun owner has already made those aware he is ready to defend his manor. I my maternal grandparents, lived in some areas that were not richy-rich suburbia. My parents did the same early in life. The trick was to let the neighborhood to know you took no harassment and kept your protection close at hand. Those are the stories that go untold because they only discussed among the bad guys that are looking for victims.
