One of the most interesting statements during the Tuesday press conference following the arrest of Illinois Governor Blagojevich came from Chicago FBI Chief Robert Grant: “If Illinois is not the most corrupt State in the Union, it is one hell of a competitor.” Whoo Hoo! After years of obscurity as the State Chicago is located in, Illinois is finally getting World Wide recognition for something it has been good at for all the years I have been legal to vote, Political Corruption. Heck Our State excels at political corruption! One article I read even went on to point out that four of our last seven governors have been arrested. One is currently enjoying the hospitality of the Illinois prison system. Four out of seven, is that some kind of record? Of course most, if not all corruption, leads back to Chicago where they run roughshod over the rest of the State through the Chicago Thug Machine aka as The Chicago Illinois Democratic Party. This is the same machine headed by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. And cry “I don’t know him” all they wish, the connections are visible. Daley – (Obama mentor) Emil Jones – Rod Blagojevich and Daley – Emil Jones- Barack Obama. Even our local Rock Island Politicos were riding on the elect Blagojevich train. I thought it rather amusing that the head of the local Democrat Party, John Gianulis (whom was part of the Blagojevich election team) conveniently retired when the Blago investigation started looking ugly. All roads lead back to Chicago Thug Politics. This is the same Thugs that have helped keep Blagojevich in power despite the extensive smell of corruption leaking from the Blagojevich administration early on. This corruption is the product of too much control of the State Government from the Chicago region. Every modern day Governor of Illinois has owed their political power by bowing to the Chicago Political Machine. What the State of Illinois needs is an Electoral College system that limits the influence of Chicago in choosing our Governor.

A recent poll indicated that among Illinois voters, Blago only had a 7% approval rating (13% Dem approval rating).
What I’d like to know is what percent of the 7% or 13% are from RICO?
I guess there is a silver lining in every cloud. Illinois can’t seem to generate winning professional or amateur sports teams but when it comes to crooked politicians we create top flight crooks.
