What do Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Scorcese, Debra Winger, Harvey Weinstein, Woody Allen, David Lynch, Wim Wenders, Pedro Almodovar, Tilda Swinton and Monica Bellucci all have in common besides being part of the professional entertainment industry? They are all a part of a growing circle of the entertainment industry out to protect Roman Polanski from facing justice for his crime of child rape. Hollywood, as usual, seems to think that their “entertainment circle jerks ” are above the law. They are aghast that he has been arrested and now faces extradition to the USA for his crime. I have read the summary and the minutes, posted on The Smoking Gun, from the Polanski grand jury so I cannot tell whether the Hollywood elitists are just clueless or just do not care that a teenage minor was drugged with alcohol and quaaludes and then raped by a middle aged man. The world will be watching to see if the rich and infamous Polanski will pay for his crime or if fat cat lawyers and political pressure from the Hollyweirdo community will manage to keep justice at bay. In my personal estimation the man should face the maximum prison time available for his crime plus one year added to the sentence for every year that has evaded justice. By then he should be way past one hundred years old and even the help of Viagra if he felt the urge to molest any other young girls. And to the Hollywood community seeking to hide Polanski from punishment I offer up a heartfelt one finger salute.
Perhaps most telling of Polanski’s attitude about the whole affair is from a Polanski quote from an LA Times article included in the Ed Driscoll link above:
“If I had killed somebody, it wouldn’t have had so much appeal to the press, you see? But… f—ing, you see, and the young girls. Judges want to f— young girls. Juries want to f— young girls. Everyone wants to f— young girls!”
