Prospero:
Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits, and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp’d tow’rs, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.
We now take you from our Shakespearean amusement to the real theatrical world of Rock Island County Illinois.
Can you smell in your dreams? It sure smells like a putrid stench of nepotism is currently enveloping the Rock Island Co. Democratic Politburo! During a high level of US unemployment, where the average time between jobs is around 40 weeks, and in a job climate where many professional workers are taking jobs that they are overqualified for – just in order to put bread on their family’s table; the son of RICO Democrat Politburo heavyweight and former US Congressman, Philobluster Hare- has a new job as Assistant Warden at the East Moline IL Correctional Center.
-It is probably only a coincidence that the head warden of the prison is also the head of the Rock Island Democratic party.-
According to a QCOnline article Philobluster’s son – Lou Hare, whom has a Masters Degree in theater, managed to be hired (or should we probably say – appointed?) to this high level position at the prison, after only a month of unemployment! I can easily imagine in this current job environment that there are many learned people with law enforcement and correctional backgrounds asking themselves – how did an individual like Hare‘s son , versed in a thespian background, manage to leap and bound over other individuals more practiced in dealing with issues abound in a Medium Security Prison! It surely smells like the RICO Democratic Politburo’s, Good Ol’ Boy Political Nepotistic Network, hard at work. Good Ol’ Boy Politics- surely, The stuff that dreams are made of.
If the RICO GOP can’t parlay this latest example of Dem Culture of Corruption into some big gains next year, they might as well hang it up and disband.
This, and the recent return of the circus atmosphere at Davenport City Hall, make us glad we live in Iowa. Perhaps the powers that be believe the inmates need more culture.
Good to read your comments again QCEx. Hope things are going well for you in the Lone Star State. The area misses your blog!! This post would have been right up your ally. It really requires a bit of snarky. I am not much good with snarky. I tend to come across as mean-spirited when I do snarky posts. I am not sure what to think of the next election sessions. I think people are so mad at both political parties it will be hard to judge the next election before or even after. Once elected most politicians start talking about their mandate from the electorate – even if they only won by a single vote. I don’t think most of the voters -except those on the far right and far left- are voting for any mandate. They are voting for WDC to get of it’s hiney and work like a team instead of opposing teams.
Cruiser, over here in Illinois we are the State of Big Top Circus Politics. I can hardly wait for the next Rod Blagojevich Big Top Circus. I cannot believe he and the justice system have washed their hands of each other – yet. I am not sure honing theatrical skills is what the criminal inmates need. That would just be another tool in their criminal bag of tricks.
Hey, the system works. hen the GOP is in power, the sons and friends get the gravy jobs. Why get upset because we all know its not only what you know, its who you know–sometime more important.
Just look at our lists of Governors and Senators. That’s why consultants are so profuse in numbers. The people in power are more comfortable with someone they know is related to someone they already have on staff.
Getting on the city council guarantees your children will have summer jobs. Getting on the Mayor’s commissions also has the same privileges.
The system works ( for those in power).
[...] program is reeling from government mismanagement. Hell even those programs that actually do help are filled with rampant nepotism. Though let me say that many public servants will work their ass off to help someone in need. Most [...]
