The Never Ending Story of Conspiracies

Okay, I admit it, I love a good conspiracy! Considering their popularity and plague like proliferation, I get the impression that an overwhelming amount of people love a good conspiracy. To the best of my understanding, most are a crock of BS. Most are forged like any great TALL TALE of fiction by mixing fact and fiction to create a somewhat believable story.  That gives a never-ending life to many conspiracies.  Over on Live Science, Benjamin Radford posted a list of their top ten greatest conspiracies. I had heard of all but one the conspiracies.  I was surprised at the order of a couple of the listings. I did not notice a statement as to why they placed them in their particular ratings order. Here is the list in reverse order, enjoy:

10.   The 9-11 US Government Involvement Conspiracy (Fueled by the Bush Deranged!)

09.   The Princess Diana Murder (As government conspiracies run – this one seems to have marathon legs.)

08.   Subliminal Advertising (one of my personal favorites)

07.   The ‘69 Moon Landing Hoax (As a kid I had many an argument with adults believing in this one)

06.   Paul McCartney’s Supposed Death in the Sixties ( #9, #9, #9)

05.   The John F. Kennedy Assassination (The death of E Howard Hunt recently threw some wood on this fire.)

04.   The Roswell Crash Cover-up (You mean their was no Grays? Only at #4, ??? WOW!)

03.   The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion  (One I had never heard of!)

02.   Satanic Cults (Go Geraldo, Go! Maybe the evidence was lost inside Al Capone’s vault.)

01.    Big Pharma Drug/Cure Suppression  ( This number one rating  has to break the hearts of Big Pharma Haters.)

The Doppelgänger Muppet Effect of Politburo Politics

All three candidates -Greg Aguilar, George Gualrapp and Cheri (the 8×12 Glossy Senior Pics advertisement candidate) Bustos- seeking to represent the Democrat Party in the fall election for Congressman of the 17th District of Illinois were given an opportunity to shout out to the world in debate, as to why they were the best person to represent the District in Washington DC. They all failed.  While watching a yawner of a media monitored debate, two similar adages came to mind; ” in for a penny in for a pound ( along with whats good for the goose is good for the gander,  this was one of my late grandmother’s favorite sayings) ” and “If you don’t want it bad enough to risk losing it- you don’t want it bad enough.” None of the candidates went all out in the debate to display themselves as in it to win it.  Watching the debate was like watching Pete, Re-Pete and Re-Re-Pete trying to think of  ways to rephrase similar answers to asked questions. It was like some Doppelgänger Effect had created three people whom were all factory designed lifeless Muppet characters, with individuals behind the scenes moving and talking for the characters, in some politburo scripted dance routine.  It was as if none of the candidates wanted to win the debate. While that may be fine for Bustos, the more public exposure she gets -the more evident it becomes she has been muzzled and subjected to ventriloquism by the Illinois Democrat  Politburo- pushing her to the front of the pack, Aguilar and Gualrapp will need sizzle to overcome the special interest moneyand power brokers forcing Bustos upon the electorate. Neither candidate seems willing to risk it all to win the candidacy. Bustos doesn’t have to risk – she is the smoky-backroom hand-picked successor to Phil Hare.  She will get all the dispensation and opened doors that special-interest money and power brokers can create. As ugly and nasty as it has become; the Romney-Santorum-Gingrich race for the Republican Representative to run for President this fall, which mirrors the 2008 Clinton-Obama race for the candidacy in its fervency – is a display of in-it-to-win.  But it is hard to shine out as special when you project as one of three doppelgänger Muppets like Aguilar and Gualrapp. And if you are not in it to win – even at the risk of losing everything including the degradation that accompanies rejection and loss- then you have to ask  yourself, why are you competing and why are you disillusioning your supporters with your lackluster efforts. If the debate is any inkling to the actual desire of Aguilar’s and Gualrapp’s desire to win this contest, they have both run up the white flag of surrender to the status quo of special interest power brokers. In for a  penny in for a pound or quit pretending that you really care and can make a difference. If you don’t care enough to win then you are really already out of the contest, which is what Durbin and the Illinois Politburo actually wants – a faux contest with the look of non-interference from the smoky backroom of political wheeling, dealing and pandering.

The Defanged Dispatch Argus Media – She was my babysitter also

In what may or may not be a surprise to residents of the 17th District of Illinois, the local paper – The Dispatch/Argus  has endorsed  Cheri Bustos over her Democrat opponents in the Democrat Primary for Congressman. I would have thought them likely to lean towards a more “peoples” candidate, like Aguilar, though I  am not shocked by the recommendation.  For what some left-wingers like to call a conservative-leaning newspaper – the Dispatch/Argus has seemed overly fond over the last few years of playing hear-no-evil/see-no-evil/know-no-evil when it comes to possible political skullduggery surrounding the Democratic Politburo primary practices.

The old adage states -> fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.  Well certainly when it comes to political reporting the Dispatch/Argus seems to think pretending to vet candidates is accepted practice that the public should accept from their news media.  I am not talking about the standard practice of giddiness towards certain candidates portrayed by the local reporters as they swoon over Obama, Hare and now Bustos. I have stated before, it is almost impossible to write a story without either consciously or unconsciously tainting the objectivity of the story with flowery words and expressions. What I am talking about is the situation that seems to be SOP for local and national media – where they pretend that all is normal and quiet in the political trenches when suspicious behavior arises. It was obvious that something was amiss when Phil Hare was first forced onto the voting public using an end-around maneuver, by then Rock Island Democratic Chairman, John Gianoulis – also a mover and shaker with the now convict Rod Blagojevich’s campaign- over the top of  other possible candidate. Afterward the forced selection of Hare , it was leaked that those that had dared to  challenge the coronation were come down on with political strong arming tactics with their political careers threatened. And our local media watchdogs -whom you would have thought could have smelled a story-  were strangely silent and even kept an innocuous approach towards the RI Politburo and the events that followed the good-old-boy backroom selection process that selected Phil Hare. So you would think that when candidates started falling by the wayside in the recent Democrat Primary followed by stories from those candidates of US Senator Dicky Durbin strong-arming potential opposition to the anointed one by political insiders – Cheri Bustos. Nope – it seems somebody must have defanged our media watchdogs or they are too busy snatching the scraps of green meat being tossed their way by someone with Bustos ties. For very similar to the Hare coronation - the Dispatch/Argus barely mentions it, dismissing it as no-harm/no-foul in their article Primary 2012. Then they  jump on the Bustos bandwagon with little more to offer -than the Durbin reasoning of she was my babysitter- by recommending Bustos because:

As a former elected official in the Arsenal’s backyard and as a former Q-C journalist, Ms. Bustos would seem better armed to fight to protect and promote the Quad-Cities biggest employer and important cog in the wheel of the nation’s military readiness.

Ah once again Bustos is recommended not because of talent – but because they relate to her as a former member of the defanged QC journalist corps and because she is from the QC. Hmm, in reality just another way of the media quoting Durbin’s – vote for Bustos because she was my babysitter. Woodward and Bernstein they are not! Whether the Durbin stench is real or just vaporous smoke- the Shame is on you Dispatch/Argus for your hear-no-evil/see-no-evil/know-no-evil approach to reporting.

March 14 an Esoteric Holiday

Caution the following post includes adult information

Despite my extensive 29+ years on this planet, I still stumble upon events or items that I had never heard of. The latest event I learned of when opening my email box, was an obscure, perhaps even esoteric holiday. It seems that today March 14 is celebrated by some individuals as the male emulation of Valentines Day -called Steak and Blowjob Day. Evidently San Diego celebrates a similar, yet individualistic holiday on March 20 – they call Steak and Knobber Day! Perhaps it’s a Navy thing. Well I don’t think anyone is going to get a legal paid holiday for the event – so pardon my ambivalence and disinterest towards either obscure holiday, other than to admit my total ignorance that some would be shallow enough to attempt creation of such a holiday. In all fairness -at least for theScoundrel- to even know that these holidays pretend existence is TMI!

Let the Bustos-Aguilar-Gualrapp Debate Begin

;-) Yes it is a long post, even for me! Yes it contains my bizarre humor, satire and hyperbole. If you like it, enjoy. If not, I’m easy like a hooker, just go buy tickets to Bill Cosby, because once he is gone – finding quality comedy will be  like looking for water in the desert. All the rest pale in his shadow.

I was reading the dead-tree version of QC Online, the Dispatch/Argus and read where the chosen one, Cheri Bustos, will actually compete in debate with her challengers. Of course the appearance will give her the advantage of home court, considering the venue’s – WQPT Public TV -, connections with the state/local Democratic Politburo Powers That Be. The paper was asking for questions to be sent in for the candidates, that debate selection committee could consider asking during the debate. With that in mind here is my almost-psychic scoundrely Fantastic Voyage miniaturized version of the possible Debate Questions for the candidates; sans candidate replies, to protect the not so innocent among them. (Hey make-up your answers if you absolutely need them. They are probably as good as you would come away from the debate with.) let the (fantasy) debate begin.

Welcome everyone with the first round of questions we will start with Mr. Gualrapp.
DM (Debate Moderator): Mr Gualrapp in your decision to run for the Congress you stated your agenda was to bring jobs back to economically challenged Northwestern Illinois.

In order to display to the voters, your knowledge of what it takes to inhibit, stop and reverse the Rust Belt pattern of the 17th district of Illinois; please explain pros and cons of the Keynesian economics theories versus more classical theories such as Say’s Law. In your answer please include your preference and how you would lead our dysfunctional Congress to implement the changes necessary to right our sinking ship? To help you with your display we have included a practical Buhl 90 series overhead projector and marker. You now have 90 seconds to respond.

DM:  Mr Aguilar, a lot has been made by your supporters, about the fact that you are a director of events  at the local college Augustana.

As a member of the House of Representatives you might be called upon to make important decisions involving our military technology and funding for such – so could you explain, using the applications of special relativity, the advantages of accuracy offered in modern day missile technology versus the carpet bombing methodology used in past warfare.  We have included a a genuine Glenn Beck Chalkboard to help you with your explanation. You now have 90 seconds to respond.

DM: Ms. Hare err. I mean Bustos, alarmist detractors, including several posters on QCOnline articles,  have inferred that like your predecessor, Phil Hare, though slightly more attractive – you seem a cold, political, and calculating loose canon placed on a short lease by the Dick Durbin worshiping Rock Island Politburo; plus during your time servicing East Moline you  often voted to increase taxes on an already struggling region- including five votes to raise  the water/sewer rate. So that you may display to those detractors that you are not the tax and spend puppet many believe you to be, please answer the following difficult and tricky question.

If you are charged  $70 for an overnight visit at a local hotel and the city charges a 12% hotel tax on top of the base, what will be the total cost for your nightly stay – excluding meals, masseur, extra amenities or mini-bar charges that you can charge to your government expense account. Due to the difficulty of this question we have placed a Del Inspiron 17R series laptop computer with 17″ screen, a 2nd gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor, 1TB hard drive, and upgraded graphics we have also installed Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and One Note software for your convenience and Internet access. Due to the complexity of this question we will allow as much time as needed to calculate your answer.

Candidates thank you for your responses. Though we were sadly disappointed in the brevity of the answers to Mr. Gualrapp’s and Mr. Aguilar’s questions, which led to an incomplete understanding of how voters can hope for them to represent them in the US Congress. Ms. Bustos your response of $78.40 was exactly correct – we realize  that your question was extremely difficult, but due to the time constraints of this televised debate a quicker response would have been preferable. Round two is coming up and the questions may be pointed toward personal strengths and/or liabilities and probably will be slightly more difficult. You may continue to use the equipment we provided in the first round. We will start round two with Mr. Aguilar.

DM:  Mr. Aguilar we know that you are active in solving the challenges represented by the undocumented immigrant issues in the region. We considered that one helpful solution might be for citizens of the US to embrace the spirit of Magellan, Columbus and early American pioneers, which would create more opportunity for naturalized citizens as well as immigrants seeking new lives and/or asylum from ruthless dictators like Castro and Chavez. For your next question we would like you to figure out the costs of materials, energy and labor – plus the time scale needed to assemble exploration and colonization of the newly found planet Kepler-22b. Please include an advertising cost factor for promoting this exploration and colonization to the US Citizens and interested immigrants.  We have added a slide rule to your accessible tools to perform any needed calculations. Due to the slightly more complexity of this question we will give you an extra 30 seconds of time added to your original 90 seconds. You may start now.

DM: Mr. Gualrapp despite the fact that Dickey Durbin has endorsed your competitor, Ms. Hare err. Bustos and then attempted to intimidate you, and now independent candidate Eric Reyes, out of the competition – many are still worried that if elected,  your past association with Durbin may have a negative influence on your ability to fix the economy of the 17th district of Illinois. To assuage the worries of possible voters please answer the following business oriented question. The media has reported that the Chinese are planning to construct a moon base in the near future, possibly as soon as 2020. Some individuals are claiming that this is a land grab move by China in response and made possible by the US decision to cut back on its space program. Our question to you is; in a John Kennedy/Lyndon Baines Johnson approach layout a clear and precise financial plan that will get the US back into the space race to establish our own colonies and manufacturing bases on the Moon as well as Mars. As with Mr. Aguilar we will give you an extra 30 seconds for this question.

DM: Well I am afraid the last two answers were once again, disappointing. We had really expected better from two such distinguished candidates. We are looking forward to Ms. Bustos’ enlightened answers to renovate this debate.

Ms. Bustos many of the voters are worried that you are inexperienced and nothing more than the remodeled version of your predecessor Politburo Puppet Phil Hare and his extremist views that mirror the Chicago Machine Politics that has crippled the State of Illinois financially. With this question we would like to offer you the chance to display to those voters you are not just another mindless puppet whose dance strings are being pulled, by Extremist Left Wing power Brokers,  while repeating their endless spin. Your question is as follows; Lingerie  – Victoria’s Secret or Fredrick’s of Hollywood?  You may use the laptop and software and Internet connection we made available to you to construct your answer. Like Alex Trebek – We realize the importance of phrasing your answer in the proper form, so please take all the time needed to offer up an elegant response to enchant our viewers.

DM: Well thank you Ms. Hare, err. (I keep messing that up) Bustos for a truly enlightening response to our questions. We had planned another round of questions but due to the time constraints we will be forced to cut this debate short. Like Jerry Springer, we would like to leave you with our last word:

Voting, though it could be said it is mostly an Un-American practice, is an important right of US citizenship. And for those who do practice the hobby of voting – it is important that voters educate themselves about each candidate (hmm, another mostly  Un-American practice) rather than being influenced to cast their vote by advertising gimmicks and Political Party pandering and/or organizational arm-twisting (a definite American Tradition). So we would like to end this debate with a line from a John Denver song. Some Days are Diamonds, Some Days are Stone. We know the Truth is Hard to Come By, and this debate was definitely an analogy of those John Denver lyrics. As impartial media personalities we can tell you to go out and place an educated vote but we cannot tell you how to vote. Still as the song says; Sometimes the cold wind leaves a chill in our bones and some of tonight’s responses did so. We would like to thank all the candidates for showing up to this debate. We would also like to thank Ms. Hare, err. (I am sure I will get this right before the fall elections)  Bustos for her progressive thoughts on the very tough questions we pressed her with. We would also like to give a huge hug and kisses to the Rock Island Democratic Politburo for allowing her to compete in this objective arena. Goodnight and Good luck from TV land! Vote Chicago Style -> Vote Early and Vote Often!

Andrew Breitbart Speaks from the Grave – Who Guards the Guardians

It has been less than a week since the death of conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart. All of his “Big”  Websites were relaunched today as Breitbart spoke from the shadows of death. Like many other conservatives, Breitbart was disenchanted with the lack of mainstream media’s vetting of POTUS Obama prior to his 2008 election. As I have stated numerous times, not only did the media not vet Obama, they shut their eyes and ears to his radical past and Chicago Ties. The media kept their eyes tightly closed, even after the Hillary is 44 website, that supported Hillary Clinton, posted numerous pages of information on Obama’s questionable Chicago connections.  According to his website, Breitbart’s latest quote was–. “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” – “Who guards the guardians?” Though not in Latin, it has been something I have asked numerous times since the 2008 election season. The media is supposed to be our guard dog to protect us politicians. During the 2008 election – our guard dogs  were slathered up in a rage of Bush Derangement Syndrome as they bent their knees in worship to the False Prophet messages of Barack Obama. A few have escaped from their drug-like trances but many have drank too much Obama Kool-Aid  to ever come back to reality. Even from the grave Breitbart has managed to stir the pot and bitch-slap our “supposedly guardian” mainstream media for their  unrepentant worshiping of Obama’s baby-steps towards making the US into a socialist nation.  Who does guard the guardians-  when the guardians have chosen to blindly follow a false prophet like rats following the Pied Piper? I guess Andrew Breitbart does, even from the grave.

Let the Breitbart-Obama Conspiracy Theories Begin – later

It has been just days since conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart died. Now some theorists are already smelling assassination! It seems that Breitbart was soon to release damning video of POTUS Obama. So the theory is that Breitbart was killed to silence the information he was about to release. Somebody better call Ex MN. Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura, I am sure he can get the scoop. Say, is his TV Show Conspiracy Theory still on?.

(You know Peanut Butter Parfait Nips are quite tasty until you get stupid and chew them, then they get stuck in your teeth and fillings.)

Okay I love a good conspiracy as well as anyone and more than most. But I just don’t see this conspiracy flying high except to the delusional. I am not a friendly face for Obama, and yes as POTUS he certainly has resources at his command to make anyone die or simply disappear off the face of the planet Earth! Heck, CIA involvement in assassinating JFK conspiracies, still run rampant almost 50 years after his death.E. Howard Hunt’s deathbed confession, being one of the latest in flaming the conspiracy fires as possible names on the grassy knoll list. But the likelihood of Obama actually being involved in the death of Breitbart rates high among nonsensical conspiracy theories. Face it if Obama was going to send out a goon squad after someone–> it would have been Glenn Beck, as Beck has vociferously exposed as much questionable Obama history as anyone.  Breitbart’s father-in-law, Orson Bean has reported the man suffered heart problems since 2010. The man led a busy life, which can be hard on heart patients. Plus killing Breitbart will not silence, just merely delay, whatever Obama misdeeds that were set to be exposed. So while making for interesting speculation I just do not see this Obama/Breitbart conspiracy gaining traction. Perhaps the next Obama/Breitbart conspiracy will have a better grip on reality. My philosophy has always been – Let the Conspiracy Theories Begin-  but when death is involved, why not let the family grieve before stirring the pot.

A Politicians Dream Gun

According to an article on Y! Tech, Japan is working on a gun that can silence people speaking out of turn and keep them from talking.  According to the article the gun absorbs the sound coming from the speaker and plays it back at a rate, that confuses the brains response to the normal brain-to-auditory  process. It all sounds like trying to watch a movie where the voice and picture are out of synch to this tech-challenged blogger.  I am sure that on normal everyday people this will be very effective in making them look like dullards. I doubt its effectiveness on politicians, professional public speakers  and spin doctors – whom close their minds and ears off to the world around them, basking in the glory of their fifteen minutes of pomp and fame upon a public pedestal, while they speak million dollar multi-syllabic words, in lengthy run-on sentences, about subjects they are unknowledgeable about and/or see as merely a headline that will make them sound important to the world.  Meanwhile I am sure that Dean Wormer led Super-Secret Star Chambers, like currently operating in Erie, and bumptious power-hungry Mayors such as some indicate rules with his Iron Fist in Davenport, Iowa that seem to prefer faux  public meeting surrounded by backslapping disciples sans any uncomfortable opposing views – are cheering the invention and giddy with expectation of the opportunity to point and click a gun to shut up challengers to their status quo. It’s nothing less than a power mad politicians dream weapon.Of course this is just the amateurish opinion of a self-proclaimed scoundrel on the outside looking in. That and a Washington dollar, a Jefferson nickel and two Lincoln pennies might buy you something off the Mickey Dee dollar menu. Strange, it costs more for a 99 cent hamburger than  a dollar dance at the local strip club. Of course if Illinois politicians have their way, they will tax those also
