The Supreme Court Rules – Put Your Money Where You Mouth Is

The media is reporting that the Supreme Court has ruled that campaign donors have the right donate money to as many political candidates and political committees as they wish as long as they abide by the legal limits placed on individual candidate donations. Personally I think Judge Clarence Thomas’ statement should have been the better finalized judicial ruling. According to an AP article by Mark Sherman:
Justice Clarence Thomas agreed with the outcome of the case, but wrote separately to say that he would have gone further and wiped away all contribution limits.

I guess it is time for voters to put their money where  their mouths are.

  1. I agree with you and Justice Thomas—let everybody donate as much as they want as long as reporting is done pronto and openly.

It’s all this tinkering and messing around after Watergate that has caused the rise of the “dark money” PACs—money will find politicians and politics no matter what roadblocks are thrown up.

  2. agreed.
