A great magician like David Copperfield is successful because he can tell you of the illusion he is about to stupefy your mind with and is still able to offer up distractions that allow him to fool your mind into missing the reality behind the illusion.

Team Obama along with attack dog Nancy Pelosi has just extorted and bribed the House version of Obamacare through the House of Representatives voting process. On November 9^th Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley was in the Quad Cities pimping out that US House legislative version of Obamacare by using his attempts at the magic of distraction. Bruce Braley is not David Copperfield. Like a bad magician incapable of averting your eyes from the trick of the performance -Braley’s message to the media was ignore all the bad parts and just look at the illusionary big picture.

There is a reason the Obama/Congressional attempts at health care reform continue to lose support –the contents of the legislation in both the House and the Senate is full of rotten produce and no matter how much you look at the big picture – the rotten spots have permeated the product and cannot be hidden by a Congressional Magic Show. The “big picture” of Team Obamas health care plan is so full of rotten ingredients it has spoiled the whole creation. And even the most expert Congressional magic could not distract the stench coming from this legislation. And sadder yet an included component of this legislation, that could distinctly win increased support from the public- a written reaffirmation against government funded abortions – in all likelihood will windup getting cut from the final recipe by the Congress. And considering the increased expense it adds to the already gigantic tax costs wrapped up in this legislation  – it would not surprise me if the elimination of pre-eisting conditions legislation eventually wound up cut from the legislation.  Meanwhile Congressmen, like Braley, will travel the country putting on their phony magic shows attempting to sell the country on this expensive product made-up of mostly rancid ingredients. Of course their Congressional illusions only work if the voters allow the Congressional deceptions to confuse the public mind.

Team Obama member Nancy Pelosi continues to bully opponents within her own party that disagree with voting for her version of Obamacare. Pelosi is determined to push her own personal agenda over the tops of concerns of party legislators that live in and represents  voting regions that do not worship the Pelosi East/West Coast ultra-liberal progressivism, no matter the political costs to more conservative party members. The 2009 election has already displayed a voting public that is backing away from the hidden nightmares of Obamacare. Pelosi’s thuggish tactics on Democrat Legislators living in more conservative regions could end up costing those Democrats coming up for reelection  -their seats in Congress- if they succumb to Pelosi’s intimidation tactics. Team Obama lives among a world of progressives that imagines and characterizes those whom offer up dissent towards their Marxist agenda as fanatics and racists whom offer up insignificant fanatic and racist thoughts and opinions.

In an upcoming January episode of Iron Chef America – politics will mix with epicureans. It seems that first lady Michelle Obama has sought out the popular cooking show as a way of promoting her cause of healthy eating for children. The show will be a team effort of Food Network Icon Chefs Mario Batali & Emeril Lagasse versus fellow FN Chef Booby Flay paired-up with White House Executive Chef, Cristeta Comerford.  According to a Marian Burros article, the show visited the White House and the chefs wandered through the White House Garden to decide on vegetables that will be used in their creative dishes. The rules were that the Chefs must combine ingredients of the types grown in the White House garden with other FN supplied food components in every dish.

I am a regular viewer of Iron Chef America as well as the original Japanese version of the show. And while it should be an interesting battle – I do not foresee healthy eating habits coming from the creativity of these Chefs. Both Batali and Lagasse could sub for the Pillsbury Dough Boy should he call in sick. “Blue Corn” Bobby Flay, while not of Pillsbury Dough Boy material, is not known for serving health food either. They are all top end Chefs that serve gourmet taste buds, whom seek extravagant cuisine that does not come from healthy eating habits. The prepared foods are often large portioned high-fat high-carb high-caloric treats accompanied by more of the same side dishes. The favorite accompanying ingredient to any dish for the guest judges is usually – BACON! One of the media leaked not so healthy ingredients for this episode also happens to be baby-pig.  And though the some guest judges may look healthy to pencil thin – if they eat meals similar to those served on camera, when at home and away from the show, then they must be often practitioners of bulimia. Great Television Spectacle, you bet! Good politics, probably. Good food, no doubt. Healthy eating habits encouragement – not so much and only at a public pretense level.

The election following the one-year anniversary of Barack Obama is over and the results are in – both sides won both sides lost. Whew, thank God! Sigh – Let the two-Party Election Spin begin!!! I am sure both the Democrat and Republican Parties shall have ample supplies of Hopium to spread around for their followers as they lay claim to their spoils of victory and moan about their wounds of defeat. As following any election – each party will hurrah the victory and attempt to spin the casualties while hoping they have enough Hopium to satiate the true believers. And both sides of the two major political parties will point out the victories point out that the voting public has given them a mandate to fulfill! Oops, Is my cynicism/realism mode showing? Well since everyone else will be dishing out their opinion surrounding various elections and the secret meaning behind the results – Me To! On with the show this it!

My evaluation of the 2009 elections is as follows- state level elections, on a non-Presidential election year, will often give you a result more tuned towards state politics – because those years lack the sporadic voters that only show up for the Big Top Extravaganzas that surround Presidential elections. That bit of opinion will net you exactly bupkiss; unless you happen to be at my morning table when I am serving up my infamous peanut-butter oats in my 32 oz. Anchor-Hocking breakfast bowls, while I am also dishing out side-orders of my political musings. Breakfast at my table is kind of like Halloween Trick or Treats. The value -of trick or treat- varies by recipient. Still, I shall share some of my post election thoughts in later posts.

What would e-mail be without the constant glut of Spam mail wanting me to claim mega bucks from Nigeria through illegal banking schemes. Ahh! Lately the Spammers have started to integrate FBI help and/or warnings in an effort to get me to send them all my personal and banking information. You can tell it ain’t the real FBI-Guys because they are actually asking for my personal information. The real FBI-guys would instead, just illegally look up my information with their super-duper computers – then just for fun they would leak the information to the media and every other Tom – Dick & Harry. The further we get from the presidential elections of 2008 the more I have to shake my head and wonder if Sarah Palin is/was such an insignificant and hapless politician – why is it that the Democrat Party Organization fear her  so much?The same could be asked about their fear of the Tea Party Protesters, whom they also like to trivialize.

As I have stated on numerous occasions, when it comes to political affiliations, my family is split about 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats. And some of my family members get e-mails from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on a regular basis. And I get to read lot of them. All of them are begging for money -most of them are hate-filled diatribes seeking to vilify a Republican Candidate or Conservative organization in an effort to scare the bejeebus out of the loyal rank and file members to fleece them out of the few farthings they have managed to save from oppressive Government Tax-Collectors.

The latest diatribe I got to view from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and James Carville was another hate-fest -using the “evil” Sarah Palin’s ability to raise funds for “Tea Party Nut Jobs“- as the DCCC begged my kin for money to fatten the Barack Obama and DCCC’s campaign war chest. ROFLMAO -Like he was going to send money to rich lawyers and politicians begging for campaign money. He is so tight with his money – he squeaks when he walks.

Still it makes a person wonder that if  Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Protesters are really a case of a dumb blonde surrounding herself with a bunch of Carville called- Tea Party Nut Jobs, as they try to paint and trivialize the Average Every-day American protesters, why do they with their self-proclaimed superior Progressive intellect need to demonize and disparage their DCCC-called –>low-caste opposition.

Caution the following mostly non-fiction frightening tale is steeped with real-life terror and may be too intense for children. It may also be too horror-laden with modern-day reality-checks for some adults. But Halloween is upon us and so I guess a real live tale of bloodcurdling proportions is appropriate. The fiction parts all belong to Big Government- daring to create a real-life monster, that no man or woman could possible perceive.

Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, all of the Great Social projects raped by Congressional Pork Projects and approaching bankruptcy. Excessively patched obsolete roads, highways and bridges built for the 1950’s and 1960’s traffic despite the infrastructures constant transfusions of semi-truckloads of cash. Local, State and Federal educational and protection services undermanned, outgunned and often expected to perform their jobs with their hands tied behind their backs despite oppressive taxes laden upon the public. Congress is cheering and patting each other on the back for designing more pork laden stimulus packages. Led by a giddy President, scandal ridden advisors, our already money-drunken Congress is bullying and championing support among the more frugal and skeptical members to combine two unread -Halloween Appropriate- Monster-sized Congressional Proposals totaling almost Four-Thousand Pages in order to create one Gigantic Phantasm of Congressional Legislation. As pointed out by local blogger QCExaminer even our local Party-Selected Congressman Philobluster Hare is rushing to take credit for creating this monster. Big surprise there for us in the 17^th district of Obamaland. NOT! These proposals will be rushed through Congress as fast as the Team Obama Socialists can push them through the legislative process. The final Congressional Phantasm will never be read by most of the Congress and will-not/could-not be understood by most of those that actually do attempt to read the final product, whose actual translation will take years upon years of legal haggling before even the most basic parts of translation will be settled. The piece of Frankenstein legislation has not even been created, nor will most of it take effect for years and already it is set for eternal legal damnation. Meanwhile the excited Congress continues to praise itself for creating their Frankenstein that they hope to soon release from any current legislative/public consternation and shackles. And despite a continual history of past and current Congressional Ethic Probes and Scandals – Congress and their Big Government Worshiping Disciples seem stunned that the more Conservative among us are unsettled, by their unquestioning desire to add another Big Government Run Frankenstein –like ObamaCare, which has not been finished, will not be finished by the time it is voted in or voted down, which if that legislation stands that is written will have the Palin mentioned  death panels, will have a federally funded abortion window, will have Pelosi spurred tax increases effecting most and is basically legislation that will never be completely read or understood by any of the legislature and public. The bill/s is/are basically a Phantom Project that is set to be funded with Phantom Money— to join the other almost bankrupt Big Government Social Programs. You have to ask why the President and so many in Congress are so giddy over creating this new Monster? The answer is simple if you look at the history of all the other teetering programs, barely surviving despite a constant transfusion of taxpayer’s earnings that total more money than even God could count. It is not like Big Government is really all that concerned about Joe and Jane Average American – any further than to create Democrat and Republican Political Party Rhetoric to rally the voting troopers led by their servant/familiars like ACORN.  They are excited because, like very other Big Government program, the money they confiscate, to pay for this Frankenstein, from Joe and Jane Average American will be theirs to play with. As usual, once the money is allocated, they will constantly steal from Project Peter to create/pay for and keep Pork Project Paul afloat, while crying they need to raise more taxes to pay for their next special interest scheme. How appropriate the Congress has loosened the chains of this Frankenstein just days before Halloween Trick or Treats! Though I fear this Big Government Project is way more trick than treat. Happy Halloween! But this halloween – Be Afraid – Be Very Afraid as this Big Government Frankenstein Fantasy could become a real Big Government Monster of Terror.

So was California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and/or his staff creatively offering up an F-Bomb laden  veto after the Governator was told  to “kiss my gay ass” by a California legislative member? Or was it just  coincidence that the following commentary from the Governator’s veto dropped the “F-Bomb” along the left hand margin? I guess you have to ask yourself was it creative retribution or do you believe in mere coincidences?

In March of 1964 a young woman living in New York City arrived at her home after a night of work only to be brutally raped and murdered. The attack began once, was disrupted by a neighbor, which caused the attacker to leave for a few minutes before returning to finish the job he had started – an intentional random murder of a young woman. It was estimated anywhere from a dozen to thirty-eight people were witness to parts of the attack. One was the neighbor that disrupted the original attack by shouting at the attacker and another was a man whom called the police after the attack was over. The numerous witnesses had various reasons as to why they did not immediately call the police and/or allowed the attack to go on without attempting to intervene. The episode has helped paint Big City populations as apathetic towards unfolding tragedy.

Now we are hearing that in Richmond, California a young fifteen-year-old girl was lured into a back ally drinking event then attacked and raped following a high school homecoming event. The rape has said to involve as many as a dozen different individuals and another 15 to 20 audience members that evidently needed a voyeuristic thrill. Included in this event were two adult individuals. Yet evidently not one saw fit to call the police or intervene until after the attack was over.

Two brutal attacks forty-five years apart. One might have thought history would have created an evolved reaction to the vicious attack of a young woman. Yet in the most modern instance not only does it seem that a group of people who could have stepped up to help prevent the barbaric act –didn’t- if reports are correct, they either joined in the rape action or simply chose to view it as live cinema. Maybe they were all Roman Polanski disciple and enabler types. Whatever the reason – society seems to continue to de-evolve under this so-called age of enlightenment where society has turned over the teaching of morality from family and church to government and government approved foundations.

Once upon a time not so very long ago – in fact it was just last year – there was a fairy-tale story about an US Presidential candidate that was traveling around the nation singing his own praises of hope and change. He was boasting about how he would cleanup the beleaguered quagmire that has become politics-as-usual in Washington DC. He promised bipartisanship, a transparent government and a newfound Washington DC integrity as the cornerstone of his leadership. Early on during the campaign I started asking how could a candidate that had birthed his political career in the slime-pit that is the Chicago political arena— I asked how could a candidate that was being mentored by an Illinois politician, Emil Jones, known as the thuggish enforcer for – Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich that was and is still under intense legal scrutiny for questionable legalities that he was a part of during his time as our Governor— I also asked how could that candidate, or any Presidential candidate promising hope and change in Washington DC cleanup said showground for political corruption without starting from the ground-up by sweeping away the old-guard that has deep roots inside the swamp of Washington DC politics-as-usual? Less than year into the Obama Presidency he has given those answers – he cannot, nor has he displayed any real desire to do so. His whole first year has failed his campaign promises and has instead spent the time proving, that he is just another False Prophet of Hope and Change in Washington politics.

Instead of leading a cleanup of national politics he has surrendered his idealist hope and change rhetoric to the Chicago Style Politics his career was birthed in. He has surrounded himself with many of those very same old-guard Illinois and Washington DC politicians -like Rham Emanuel- known for their thuggish partisan politics – that he promised to oust out of Washington DC political quagmire during his hope-and-change campaign. In fact Obama has publicly praised some of those very same hate-filled people that are knee-deep in Chicago style thuggary politics. Some of his administration and followers have been caught on camera and tape espousing extreme politics, Hugo Chavez Governing, indoctrinating your children and advocating those “imaginary” Government Death Panels that the Obama worshipers denounced Sarah Palin over when she asked about the possibility in the Obamacare Reform legislation.  Many of his handpicked advisors/Czars have turned out to be anti-freedom of thought extremists whose ideal of hope and change would be turning this country into their dream version of Communist China. Perhaps selecting advisors wanting to change our country from a democracy to a Marxist State was what Obama meant by his campaign hope-and-change rhetoric?

His transparent government promise was tossed out the window almost immediately. Like what has become long-term standard operating procedure for politics in the State of Illinois – the Obama led Democrats in Congress have closed the Congress doors so they could operate their Chicago and Illinois style of clandestine good-old-boy politics. That is a political style that has our State of Illinois teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.  The Illinois politcal style of closing/locking  doors to discussion and bankrupting the government – is that what Obama meant by his hope-and-change campaign promise?

And along with the Obama promise of transparency his promise of integrity was also flushed down the toilet after his election. Obama and the Congress have shut the debate doors when it comes to designing and passing legislation. President Obama has personally setup 1984ish website where good little boys and girls can turn in their parents and neighbors for expressing impure non Obama-worshiping thoughts. Obama has gathered around an Obama worshiping squad of media members and organizations to squelch opposition to his policies. The Obama White House has even hired individuals, like a Hugo “No Free Speech” Chavez loving FCC director and Anita Dunn, whose job it is to spy and lead attacks on any media if they question his Chicago style political kingdom. Is doing away with the first amendment and creating a Marxist Government, the real hope-and-change Obama campaigned about?

Keep repeating that Obama Mantra – Hope-and-Change Hope-and-Change Hope-and-Change! It helps deaden the mind to the reality living in the Obama  Mantra. Keep repeating it as  Obama and his cronies whisk away US freedoms with his business as usual Washington DC good old boy politics. It makes you wonder what is the next Obama Mantra – the audacity of: All Hail Emperor Caesar?
