Obama Acolyte, Chicago Mayor Rham Emmanuel is attempting to use his political position to intimidate Banking Corporations to cease lending money to firearm manufacturers that disagree with his personal political beliefs on gun-control. Perhaps it is time to announce to Chicago to stop their Thuggish Mayor and make him quit attempting to impose his anti-second amendment beliefs on the rest of the country or protectors of the second amendment will start boycotting his cities tourist attractions.

Is it Time to Boycott Chicago’s Tourist Attractions
Chicago Cubs Postseasonless Blues
I can’t remember doing a single Chicago Cubs post this year. It sure wasn’t for a lack of arranging my personal schedule in order that I could watch them on television. Face it the season was abysmal, and I might be sugar coating that assessment through rose colored glasses. I would normally being hollering “wait till next year” at this normal point of Cubby Post-Seasonless Blues. But other than the Anthony Rizzo deal, Theo Epstein hasn’t wowed me with his MLB import-export skills anymore than Rudy Jaramillo wowed me with his his hitting instructor leadership. But since we are once again in familiar territory – the Chicago Cubs sitting out the post season- I decided do do a season ending post of a video, in which the late Steve Goodman sings a ballad about a recurring nightmare of way too many a Cub fan.
The Media – Sizzling Tragedy to Make Money and Sell Gun Restrictions
The National Media found another gun-control dog bone to chew on with the recent tragic shooting in Texas. Is it newsworthy, Yes., it is! Just like any previous mass shooting was newsworthy. Still you have to ask yourself, why has the shooting grabbed national headlines with such media induced fervor.
Well part of the reason is it is the medias job to make hot potato soup from stone soup. You can’t sell news without the SIZZLE!!! No SIZZLE, and to rephrase a line from an old movie called Ruthless People, the news is then kidnapped by K-Mart and the news -show gets marked down, forcing the media corporations to sale the news rather than sell the news for advertising dollars. But their has to be other reasons for making a heartbreaking incident such as the Texas shooting, the front-page lead on so many standard and internet media outlets.
Last I heard there were three people dead which included the shooter) and four people injured. No doubt, a horrifying event in swaggering gun-toting Texas. Yet in heavily restricted gun-controlled, gun-fearing Chicago there were over 49 murders take place (its first decrease since August 2011), just in July alone. Chicago, that big Illinois and USA City – that POTUS Obama is constantly shining and polishing as the birth of his political career. Chicago, that Obama golden-painted beacon of Americana image and whose Obama Crony Mayor, Rham Emanuel, went vociferously public across national media damning Chick-Fil-A restaurants about how the image such a family-oriented business would tarnish Chicago morals- is expected to finish out the year with over 500 murders, which would eclipse the totals of last year, 2011. But killing suburbanites and college people with a gun SIZZLES and SELLS the news to average media consumer more than a crime ravaged Progressive Liberal City, where residents kill each other on a daily basis. It makes you wonder why a nation that has a media over-run with Progressive Liberal worshiping reporters continues to fail the citizens of Chicago whom must daily face a plague of murder, while the media rush to sensationalize the tragic events such as the Texas shooting?
Well a huge reason is that Chicago, like most overly regulated gun-control cities, is a shining example – that over-restricting of gun control does not work. A mass shooting event, Horrifying? Yes, certainly. But more newsworthy than a POTUS heralded city who has averaged around 10 murders a week, that only rarely gets mentioned in the national press? No its not. But the liberal press can’t sell the sizzle of gun control to the public, when the daily news displays the idiocy of Progressive Liberals hatred of USAmerican citizen gun ownership. On the other hand selling gun control through fear-mongering by sexing up incidents against suburbanites, makes for hot stories where the press can make a pot of Gumbo from a single stone. And considering that much of the media are Progressive Liberals and POTUS Obamaton disciples – Chicago’s murder rate don’t make for good promotional material in their quest to put Obama back as Bus Driver in charge of driving the US towards Socialism/Communism.

Let the Bustos-Aguilar-Gualrapp Debate Begin
Yes it is a long post, even for me! Yes it contains my bizarre humor, satire and hyperbole. If you like it, enjoy. If not, I’m easy like a hooker, just go buy tickets to Bill Cosby, because once he is gone – finding quality comedy will be like looking for water in the desert. All the rest pale in his shadow.
I was reading the dead-tree version of QC Online, the Dispatch/Argus and read where the chosen one, Cheri Bustos, will actually compete in debate with her challengers.
Of course the appearance will give her the advantage of home court, considering the venue’s – WQPT Public TV -, connections with the state/local Democratic Politburo Powers That Be. The paper was asking for questions to be sent in for the candidates, that debate selection committee could consider asking during the debate. With that in mind here is my almost-psychic scoundrely Fantastic Voyage miniaturized version of the possible Debate Questions for the candidates; sans candidate replies, to protect the not so innocent among them. (Hey make-up your answers if you absolutely need them. They are probably as good as you would come away from the debate with.) let the (fantasy) debate begin.
Welcome everyone with the first round of questions we will start with Mr. Gualrapp.
DM (Debate Moderator): Mr Gualrapp in your decision to run for the Congress you stated your agenda was to bring jobs back to economically challenged Northwestern Illinois.
In order to display to the voters, your knowledge of what it takes to inhibit, stop and reverse the Rust Belt pattern of the 17th district of Illinois; please explain pros and cons of the Keynesian economics theories versus more classical theories such as Say’s Law. In your answer please include your preference and how you would lead our dysfunctional Congress to implement the changes necessary to right our sinking ship? To help you with your display we have included a practical Buhl 90 series overhead projector and marker. You now have 90 seconds to respond.
DM: Mr Aguilar, a lot has been made by your supporters, about the fact that you are a director of events at the local college Augustana.
As a member of the House of Representatives you might be called upon to make important decisions involving our military technology and funding for such – so could you explain, using the applications of special relativity, the advantages of accuracy offered in modern day missile technology versus the carpet bombing methodology used in past warfare. We have included a a genuine Glenn Beck Chalkboard to help you with your explanation. You now have 90 seconds to respond.
DM: Ms. Hare err. I mean Bustos, alarmist detractors, including several posters on QCOnline articles, have inferred that like your predecessor, Phil Hare, though slightly more attractive – you seem a cold, political, and calculating loose canon placed on a short lease by the Dick Durbin worshiping Rock Island Politburo; plus during your time servicing East Moline you often voted to increase taxes on an already struggling region- including five votes to raise the water/sewer rate. So that you may display to those detractors that you are not the tax and spend puppet many believe you to be, please answer the following difficult and tricky question.
If you are charged $70 for an overnight visit at a local hotel and the city charges a 12% hotel tax on top of the base, what will be the total cost for your nightly stay – excluding meals, masseur, extra amenities or mini-bar charges that you can charge to your government expense account. Due to the difficulty of this question we have placed a Del Inspiron 17R series laptop computer with 17″ screen, a 2nd gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor, 1TB hard drive, and upgraded graphics we have also installed Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and One Note software for your convenience and Internet access. Due to the complexity of this question we will allow as much time as needed to calculate your answer.
Candidates thank you for your responses. Though we were sadly disappointed in the brevity of the answers to Mr. Gualrapp’s and Mr. Aguilar’s questions, which led to an incomplete understanding of how voters can hope for them to represent them in the US Congress. Ms. Bustos your response of $78.40 was exactly correct – we realize that your question was extremely difficult, but due to the time constraints of this televised debate a quicker response would have been preferable. Round two is coming up and the questions may be pointed toward personal strengths and/or liabilities and probably will be slightly more difficult. You may continue to use the equipment we provided in the first round. We will start round two with Mr. Aguilar.
DM: Mr. Aguilar we know that you are active in solving the challenges represented by the undocumented immigrant issues in the region. We considered that one helpful solution might be for citizens of the US to embrace the spirit of Magellan, Columbus and early American pioneers, which would create more opportunity for naturalized citizens as well as immigrants seeking new lives and/or asylum from ruthless dictators like Castro and Chavez. For your next question we would like you to figure out the costs of materials, energy and labor – plus the time scale needed to assemble exploration and colonization of the newly found planet Kepler-22b. Please include an advertising cost factor for promoting this exploration and colonization to the US Citizens and interested immigrants. We have added a slide rule to your accessible tools to perform any needed calculations. Due to the slightly more complexity of this question we will give you an extra 30 seconds of time added to your original 90 seconds. You may start now.
DM: Mr. Gualrapp despite the fact that Dickey Durbin has endorsed your competitor, Ms. Hare err. Bustos and then attempted to intimidate you, and now independent candidate Eric Reyes, out of the competition – many are still worried that if elected, your past association with Durbin may have a negative influence on your ability to fix the economy of the 17th district of Illinois. To assuage the worries of possible voters please answer the following business oriented question. The media has reported that the Chinese are planning to construct a moon base in the near future, possibly as soon as 2020. Some individuals are claiming that this is a land grab move by China in response and made possible by the US decision to cut back on its space program. Our question to you is; in a John Kennedy/Lyndon Baines Johnson approach layout a clear and precise financial plan that will get the US back into the space race to establish our own colonies and manufacturing bases on the Moon as well as Mars. As with Mr. Aguilar we will give you an extra 30 seconds for this question.
DM: Well I am afraid the last two answers were once again, disappointing. We had really expected better from two such distinguished candidates. We are looking forward to Ms. Bustos’ enlightened answers to renovate this debate.
Ms. Bustos many of the voters are worried that you are inexperienced and nothing more than the remodeled version of your predecessor Politburo Puppet Phil Hare and his extremist views that mirror the Chicago Machine Politics that has crippled the State of Illinois financially. With this question we would like to offer you the chance to display to those voters you are not just another mindless puppet whose dance strings are being pulled, by Extremist Left Wing power Brokers, while repeating their endless spin. Your question is as follows; Lingerie – Victoria’s Secret or Fredrick’s of Hollywood? You may use the laptop and software and Internet connection we made available to you to construct your answer. Like Alex Trebek – We realize the importance of phrasing your answer in the proper form, so please take all the time needed to offer up an elegant response to enchant our viewers.
DM: Well thank you Ms. Hare, err. (I keep messing that up) Bustos for a truly enlightening response to our questions. We had planned another round of questions but due to the time constraints we will be forced to cut this debate short. Like Jerry Springer, we would like to leave you with our last word:
Voting, though it could be said it is mostly an Un-American practice, is an important right of US citizenship. And for those who do practice the hobby of voting – it is important that voters educate themselves about each candidate (hmm, another mostly
Un-American practice) rather than being influenced to cast their vote by advertising gimmicks and Political Party pandering and/or organizational arm-twisting (a definite American Tradition). So we would like to end this debate with a line from a John Denver song. Some Days are Diamonds, Some Days are Stone. We know the Truth is Hard to Come By, and this debate was definitely an analogy of those John Denver lyrics. As impartial media personalities we can tell you to go out and place an educated vote but we cannot tell you how to vote. Still as the song says; Sometimes the cold wind leaves a chill in our bones and some of tonight’s responses did so. We would like to thank all the candidates for showing up to this debate. We would also like to thank Ms. Hare, err. (I am sure I will get this right before the fall elections) Bustos for her progressive thoughts on the very tough questions we pressed her with. We would also like to give a huge hug and kisses to the Rock Island Democratic Politburo for allowing her to compete in this objective arena. Goodnight and Good luck from TV land! Vote Chicago Style -> Vote Early and Vote Often!

He’s Not Worthy – He’s Not Worthy – He’s So Not Worthy
Or at least that seems to be the latest ruling from the Illinois justice system towards the man -Rham Emmanuel- whom was seemingly on the fast track to become the next sovereign majesty of the city of Chicago, Illinois. In a 2-1 decision, the courts ruled against Emmanuel stating that he did not meet residency requirements. Ruled off the ballot – Emmanuel has less than four weeks to file his appeal and get back on the ballot, if he wants his grubby controlling hands juggling any State & Federal Aid destined for Chicago – not to mention being first in line with his hands out for all that lovely graft money which comes with being King $hit of Chicago. Feel pity for those judges that just ruled against Emmanuel, should he manage to secure his position of royalty in Chicago. Even before any election it is easy to guess that Emmanuel is busy sitting in some dark office creating his enemy lists, crossing out their names, then stabbing the list, while screaming death to this one or that one. You also have to assume that those judges will be at the top of any Emmanuel enemies list once he is seated on his Chicago throne.

the Bankruptcy Stroll
According to articles on QCOnline – the State of Illinois legislation has decided to attempt to tax their way out the current financial crisis. No real surprise there. According to the articles, included in the coming new taxes will be a state tax placed on purchases from the Internet, a 75% increase in the personal income tax, and a dollar per pack tax increase on cigarettes. With the reelection of Quinn and the retention of power by the “same old-same old” spendthrift legislators in the State of Illinois, it was inevitable that citizens would be looking at tax increases to pay for their tombstone voting reelection process, in Chicago. Quinn and the Big Government spenders in the Illinois legislation have created such a financial crisis – higher taxes is probably one of the few options available to make themselves look proactive. But perhaps the killer tax listed in the article was the intent to raise corporate taxes to 8.4%, and that does not even take into account all the other hidden taxes, financial expenses and regulations the State will impose on a business. The Legislators have learned nothing from past mistakes. This State has been bleeding high paying industrial jobs for decades. And the leadership has only been able to attract mostly a scattering of low paying service industry jobs to replace them. You have to shake your head at Quinn and the State Legislators when you see them decide to make the business climate even more intolerable for current and potential new corporations. Just more “Stupid is as Stupid Does” governing from the State of Illinois. California here we come – doing a hand-in-hand bankruptcy lovers stroll.

Jim Hendry Trades Overwhelmingly Underwhelm
Well July is ending and Chicago Cub General Manager Jim Hendry has officially ran up the Cubby Blue white-flag of surrender, with a trade of pitcher Ted Lilly. As with the overwhelming majority of Hendry’s trades I am underwhelmed – again!!! Lilly was traded along with second-baseman Ryan Theriot for Los Angeles Dodgers second-baseman, Blake DeWitt and two low level minor league pitchers. And Hendry being the nice guy that he is –
-even tossed in 2.5 million dollars to help the Dodgers pay Lilly’s and Theriot’s salary! Holy Cow what a joke -the Cubs get short-sheeted in the trade- plus they basically pay Lilly and Theriot to play for the Dodgers. The trade is little more than trading even-up for similar quality second-basemen, while also trading one of the most consistent pitchers on the Cubs team for the last few years for a couple of maybe/maybe-not future prospects. Plus Hendry gave the Dodgers that 2.5 million dollars as part of the horse exchange!! And if the trade is successful for the Cubs, it will not be because of any great managerial insight but because Hendry tossed the dice and it didn’t come up snake-eyes! You know I can understand that Hendry is waving the White Flag and is probably not highly considering resigning Lilly to a new contract at the end of this season. So Hendry hopes that by trading Lilly he could get a bonus out of the original Lilly deal by adding players through a mid-season trade. I get it that is part of the Major League Baseball culture. But Hendry, as usual, got taken to the cleaners by another MLB General Manager! Basically Hendry gambled away the rest of Lilly’s contract of services for a couple of minor league prospects that may never be and to make it look like he was doing his job he also swapped position players. My dog could have made that trade and she probably could have made the trade players for players without including cash. Did I mention that Hendry included 2.5 million dollars in this latest game of craps!!!
When the Ricketts family purchased the Chicago Cubs franchise, the fans were promised that the team finally had an owner that was as interested in seeing the Chicago Cubs win – as does the fandom. Yet this trade reeks of the same past Cubs management failures.
