Let the Bustos-Aguilar-Gualrapp Debate Begin

;-) Yes it is a long post, even for me! Yes it contains my bizarre humor, satire and hyperbole. If you like it, enjoy. If not, I’m easy like a hooker, just go buy tickets to Bill Cosby, because once he is gone – finding quality comedy will be  like looking for water in the desert. All the rest pale in his shadow.

I was reading the dead-tree version of QC Online, the Dispatch/Argus and read where the chosen one, Cheri Bustos, will actually compete in debate with her challengers. Of course the appearance will give her the advantage of home court, considering the venue’s – WQPT Public TV -, connections with the state/local Democratic Politburo Powers That Be. The paper was asking for questions to be sent in for the candidates, that debate selection committee could consider asking during the debate. With that in mind here is my almost-psychic scoundrely Fantastic Voyage miniaturized version of the possible Debate Questions for the candidates; sans candidate replies, to protect the not so innocent among them. (Hey make-up your answers if you absolutely need them. They are probably as good as you would come away from the debate with.) let the (fantasy) debate begin.

Welcome everyone with the first round of questions we will start with Mr. Gualrapp.
DM (Debate Moderator): Mr Gualrapp in your decision to run for the Congress you stated your agenda was to bring jobs back to economically challenged Northwestern Illinois.

In order to display to the voters, your knowledge of what it takes to inhibit, stop and reverse the Rust Belt pattern of the 17th district of Illinois; please explain pros and cons of the Keynesian economics theories versus more classical theories such as Say’s Law. In your answer please include your preference and how you would lead our dysfunctional Congress to implement the changes necessary to right our sinking ship? To help you with your display we have included a practical Buhl 90 series overhead projector and marker. You now have 90 seconds to respond.

DM:  Mr Aguilar, a lot has been made by your supporters, about the fact that you are a director of events  at the local college Augustana.

As a member of the House of Representatives you might be called upon to make important decisions involving our military technology and funding for such – so could you explain, using the applications of special relativity, the advantages of accuracy offered in modern day missile technology versus the carpet bombing methodology used in past warfare.  We have included a a genuine Glenn Beck Chalkboard to help you with your explanation. You now have 90 seconds to respond.

DM: Ms. Hare err. I mean Bustos, alarmist detractors, including several posters on QCOnline articles,  have inferred that like your predecessor, Phil Hare, though slightly more attractive – you seem a cold, political, and calculating loose canon placed on a short lease by the Dick Durbin worshiping Rock Island Politburo; plus during your time servicing East Moline you  often voted to increase taxes on an already struggling region- including five votes to raise  the water/sewer rate. So that you may display to those detractors that you are not the tax and spend puppet many believe you to be, please answer the following difficult and tricky question.

If you are charged  $70 for an overnight visit at a local hotel and the city charges a 12% hotel tax on top of the base, what will be the total cost for your nightly stay – excluding meals, masseur, extra amenities or mini-bar charges that you can charge to your government expense account. Due to the difficulty of this question we have placed a Del Inspiron 17R series laptop computer with 17″ screen, a 2nd gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor, 1TB hard drive, and upgraded graphics we have also installed Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and One Note software for your convenience and Internet access. Due to the complexity of this question we will allow as much time as needed to calculate your answer.

Candidates thank you for your responses. Though we were sadly disappointed in the brevity of the answers to Mr. Gualrapp’s and Mr. Aguilar’s questions, which led to an incomplete understanding of how voters can hope for them to represent them in the US Congress. Ms. Bustos your response of $78.40 was exactly correct – we realize  that your question was extremely difficult, but due to the time constraints of this televised debate a quicker response would have been preferable. Round two is coming up and the questions may be pointed toward personal strengths and/or liabilities and probably will be slightly more difficult. You may continue to use the equipment we provided in the first round. We will start round two with Mr. Aguilar.

DM:  Mr. Aguilar we know that you are active in solving the challenges represented by the undocumented immigrant issues in the region. We considered that one helpful solution might be for citizens of the US to embrace the spirit of Magellan, Columbus and early American pioneers, which would create more opportunity for naturalized citizens as well as immigrants seeking new lives and/or asylum from ruthless dictators like Castro and Chavez. For your next question we would like you to figure out the costs of materials, energy and labor – plus the time scale needed to assemble exploration and colonization of the newly found planet Kepler-22b. Please include an advertising cost factor for promoting this exploration and colonization to the US Citizens and interested immigrants.  We have added a slide rule to your accessible tools to perform any needed calculations. Due to the slightly more complexity of this question we will give you an extra 30 seconds of time added to your original 90 seconds. You may start now.

DM: Mr. Gualrapp despite the fact that Dickey Durbin has endorsed your competitor, Ms. Hare err. Bustos and then attempted to intimidate you, and now independent candidate Eric Reyes, out of the competition – many are still worried that if elected,  your past association with Durbin may have a negative influence on your ability to fix the economy of the 17th district of Illinois. To assuage the worries of possible voters please answer the following business oriented question. The media has reported that the Chinese are planning to construct a moon base in the near future, possibly as soon as 2020. Some individuals are claiming that this is a land grab move by China in response and made possible by the US decision to cut back on its space program. Our question to you is; in a John Kennedy/Lyndon Baines Johnson approach layout a clear and precise financial plan that will get the US back into the space race to establish our own colonies and manufacturing bases on the Moon as well as Mars. As with Mr. Aguilar we will give you an extra 30 seconds for this question.

DM: Well I am afraid the last two answers were once again, disappointing. We had really expected better from two such distinguished candidates. We are looking forward to Ms. Bustos’ enlightened answers to renovate this debate.

Ms. Bustos many of the voters are worried that you are inexperienced and nothing more than the remodeled version of your predecessor Politburo Puppet Phil Hare and his extremist views that mirror the Chicago Machine Politics that has crippled the State of Illinois financially. With this question we would like to offer you the chance to display to those voters you are not just another mindless puppet whose dance strings are being pulled, by Extremist Left Wing power Brokers,  while repeating their endless spin. Your question is as follows; Lingerie  – Victoria’s Secret or Fredrick’s of Hollywood?  You may use the laptop and software and Internet connection we made available to you to construct your answer. Like Alex Trebek – We realize the importance of phrasing your answer in the proper form, so please take all the time needed to offer up an elegant response to enchant our viewers.

DM: Well thank you Ms. Hare, err. (I keep messing that up) Bustos for a truly enlightening response to our questions. We had planned another round of questions but due to the time constraints we will be forced to cut this debate short. Like Jerry Springer, we would like to leave you with our last word:

Voting, though it could be said it is mostly an Un-American practice, is an important right of US citizenship. And for those who do practice the hobby of voting – it is important that voters educate themselves about each candidate (hmm, another mostly  Un-American practice) rather than being influenced to cast their vote by advertising gimmicks and Political Party pandering and/or organizational arm-twisting (a definite American Tradition). So we would like to end this debate with a line from a John Denver song. Some Days are Diamonds, Some Days are Stone. We know the Truth is Hard to Come By, and this debate was definitely an analogy of those John Denver lyrics. As impartial media personalities we can tell you to go out and place an educated vote but we cannot tell you how to vote. Still as the song says; Sometimes the cold wind leaves a chill in our bones and some of tonight’s responses did so. We would like to thank all the candidates for showing up to this debate. We would also like to thank Ms. Hare, err. (I am sure I will get this right before the fall elections)  Bustos for her progressive thoughts on the very tough questions we pressed her with. We would also like to give a huge hug and kisses to the Rock Island Democratic Politburo for allowing her to compete in this objective arena. Goodnight and Good luck from TV land! Vote Chicago Style -> Vote Early and Vote Often!

No Change – Just Phil Hare in a Dress

I have noticed that as the upcoming March Democrat Primary nears; a hazy media silence has spread throughout the Quad City area of  17th Congressional District,  when it pertains towards Democrat candidate news. There has been the occasional voice out of the wilderness challenging the status-quo-aristocracy  that has become both Local and State Political Primary Democrat dogmatic practices. What little news printed by the media has mostly been rah-rah  from the Union Plutocracy and “Good Old Boys Network”of current and former ranking Democratic Politburo Members offering their holy affirmation of the current Politburo chosen one – Cheri Bustos (judging from comments, pretty much done deal since June of 2011). Those have included both the eight wisemen worshipers of local political politburo politics, as well as a high ranking Commissar of Illinois Politburo Politics – Dick Durbin. The most recent challenge to the Democrat Politburo practice of preselecting and anointing political candidates was a plea to the local media, in the form of a letter to the editor requesting the voting constituency to vote for candidate Greg Aguilar.

The only real dustup to date, seemed back in December; when after Candidate Cheri Bustos  tried to incite the electorate by using Party Dogma Flame tactics, her former Democrat challenger -now turned independent challenger- Eric Reyes  challenged her partisanship bickering. Independent Candidate  Reyes statement (hmm, a very difficult to find  internet search of QC media sources!) is probably one of the few sensible declarations we will probably here – from any Democrat or Republican candidate from now through the fall elections. Considering the political dogma from her press statements, he is 100% correct on Bustos.  Considering what little Bustos has espoused since her anointment has been nothing but partisanship rhetoric,  I can only assume that she is basically past Quad City Politburo Political Puppet Phil Hare in a dress.

An interesting quote from Reyes reminded me of the original Quad City Politburo anointment of Phil Hare as Lane Evans replacement as our representative. When Evans announced his retirement,  the anointed one, Phil Hare, was challenged by then Rock Island Mayor, Mark Schwiebert and Galesburg teacher Rob Mellon. After the selection, not election, of Democrat Politburo Rhetoric spewing Philobluster Hare- some of the politburo faithful began to giggle and chuckle at how Mellon and Schwiebert had been given the Smack Down by the Quad City Democratic Politburo and made to kiss the ring of then Chairman John Gianoulis  for daring to challenge the will of the Politburo selection of Hare. Candidate Reyes made the following statement to the media:

“Over the past several weeks, I have been told to expect a call from a certain U.S. senator who has apparently forgotten that his loyalty should be to his constituents,” Mr. Reyes said Tuesday. “Perhaps I never got that call because he figured out that I am a man of principle and would not have dropped out of the race no matter how many different ways he told me that after this election I’d have no future in public service.”

Considering that statement and that there seems little, if any, coverage of any challengers to Bustos; John Gianoulis may be dead and no longer the current carnival barker of local politics, but his legacy of media-silencing and bitch-slapping  challengers to  Quad City Politburo decisions seems to live on. And Phil Hare may have been kicked to the side of the road by voters, though not before seeking to employ all his friends and relatives to taxpayer funded government positions, but the Democratic Politburo has decided to attempt force feed voters a Phil Hare clone, Politburo Dogmatist Cheri Bustos. And as during the original anointment of Philobluster Hare–> the continued years of media silence, is deafening! Some things never change in politics and among the so-called modern media watchdogs  -supposedly watching out for the public.

Quick Someone Call the Waaaaa-ambulance

It smells like election payback time has Three-County Quinn, as QCExaminer likes to call him – since he only managed to win three Illinois counties and still become Governor, ready to rob Peter to payoff Pat’s path to the Rod Blagojevich Throne. It seems that Pretender to the throne, Quinn, has decided to take over  $48,000,000 of tax-money designated for road repair across the entire State of Illinois to fund Chicago mass transit projects.  Can you smell what the Rockless is cooking! It smells like time for the taxpayers of Illinois to reimburse Chicago for the Daley Machine making Quinn our Pretender Governor. Wow you didn’t need my almost-psychic superpower to see that one coming. Quinn knows how and by whom he was selected into office and will look to toss every tax dollar, he can beg borrow or steal from the Illinois tax funds,  to his Chicago puppet-masters that set him upon the Blagojevich Throne. In another almost-psychic vision I can see the anointed one seemingly destined to become the newest Despot Mayor of Chicago, Rham Emmanuel, drooling over all the tax dollars he feels that he can get Quinn to bilk from Illinois Tax Payers and send his way as the newest Potentate of Chicago. A Kurt Erickson article also  claims that Quinn is also seeking to divert another $37,000,000 from the road funds – to help finance the blood-sucking  boondoggle known as AMTRACK  (my words not his). What a Muttonhead – the State of Illinois is in the middle of a financial crisis! Plus many of our road systems are badly in need of serious repair. Still like previous Governors, Quinn seeks to steal the money designated for those repairs – for his pork-barrel  projects! What is especially rank is that this action reeks of political payback. I suppose Quinn can run for reelection on a Renaissance Platform of – returning Illinois to the 19th  century by converting the Intrastates and Interstates of Illinois into Dirt & Gravel Roads!

Meanwhile in another Stupid is as Stupid Does moment, Dastardly Dick Durbin is crying a river because the United States Congress has cut $240,000,000 funding for  the Obama High Speed Rail-Train to and from Nowhere! Somebody better call the Waaaaa-ambulance. Dastardly Dick whined that it was a job-killer decision that would kill up to 1700 (mostly temporary) jobs. Wow lets do the math – something Spendthrift Politicians like Dastardly seem incapable of performing. $240,000,000 divided by 1700 jobs equals only $141,176 to mostly create 1700 temp jobs. Only a clueless politician like Dastardly would see that as a good investment. It probably is a good investment for Durbins Chicago puppetmasters, as they use it to steal and direct business from downstate Illinois to Chicago,  but it offers nothing substantial for the average taxpayer to be sacrificing their kids milk money  year-after-year-after-year in order to keep the Obama boondoggle in operation. Shoot that $240,000,000, don’t even take into account the millions upon millions of dollars more infusion that will be needed to donated by the Taxpayers on a regular basis to keep the Obama train to and from Nowhere running. It is no secret that passenger trains cannot and do not survive in the US without constant large money donations from the taxpayers. Of course bad Porkulous pipedream investments of taxpayer money has become an Obama Trademark and like the $535,000,000 he tossed to Solyndra -Dastardly Dick is all too willing to rubberstamp Obama’s spendthrift leadership.

Exploiting Tragedy the mob mentality of American Politics

On January 8, 2011 – a lone gunman attending a political rally for Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords walked up to the legislator and shot her in the head. He then proceeded to empty his weapon by randomly shooting other attendees of  the rally. Giffords is still fighting for her life. Fourteen individuals were wounded by the  would-be Giffords assassin.  Six people tragically died during the incident.  Little else is known about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the suspect arrested for the attack. People that claim to know him and/or to have been friends with the suspect have called the man a loner, a  nihilist, a pothead and a generally unstable individual that many were afraid to be around. Little is actually known about the man, as he has been uncooperative in discussing his reasoning behind his shocking actions.

Like most of America I was spending the last few days attempting to comprehend the circumstances that would lead an individual to create such a heinous act. Is the man a lunatic? Is he a sociopath? Those were my first considerations. Though after looking at his mug shot I am not so sure. His mug shot looked very contrived and posed. In fact, my first thoughts after looking at the picture was he was attempting to create a mirror reflection of the Crazy Uncle Fester Character from the movie and  television adaptations of the Addams Family.  He even had a skull replica shrine in his back yard. Since the arrest, the accused shooter has obtained the services of a lawyer known for defending high profile clients involved in tragic events. Similar to other opinions I have read since the incident first took place – now that we have a high profile lawyers involved, the facts will be construed and conceptualized by those in the legal system until we probably will never know what really happened in this mans head. Lord knows the rhetoric from the last several days has given plenty of material for a lawyer to twist and shape a defense. Conspiracy and misinformation shall be tossed around until the victims will be lucky to find any justice within the judicial system.  In actuality, the facts already are, that many inside the media and political arena have already turned a tragedy into a Big Top Circus Conspiracy event.

Nationally known journalists such as Paul Krugman, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin and a host of other individuals have done their best to steal mourning time from the victims, their families and the rest of the country by exploiting this tragic event as a means for political and personal advancement. At some point as I read, what was an onslaught of finger-pointing: I started to track some of the intense and vile rhetoric being tossed at the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Conservatives, Conservative Organizations,  Conservative leaning Media and even at any conservative ideology by the pundits and acolytes that ardently follow leftwing politic voices such as Krugman, Durbin and other leftwing pundits. In no time at all I had amassed over forty pages of rhetoric being tossed at those individuals – especially at Palin and the Tea Party. Which is an amazing correlation  when you look at the accuser’s profile – the man is an atheist, a drug addict, obsessed with literature that involves communist/fascist analysis  and generally hates anyone or anything in government. That is not the profile of a Tea Party member. It is not the profile of any major US political party groups I am familiar with. Still that has not stopped several days of non-stop vile accusations by those on the left trying to tie this assassin to anything Conservative. The following is a long list of a small sampling of that rhetoric, I pulled from just a handful of mainstream media sites -  such as the local newspaper Internet sites – the Quad City Times, The Dispatch/Argus’ Quad-Cities Online and the National website of CNN and Yahoo!.  In no particular order, I let the Lynch Mob Mentality, exploitation of the event and behavior surrounding  the tragedy speak for itself by posting their unvarnished words -->

  • I’m sure Sarah Palin is happy. Her first target on the map of the USA has been taken care of.
  • Gads, even NYDailynews.com connects him and the Palin statement!I suppose you just have not read that.”
  • Tea partiers are a threat to the American way of life. They are so threatened by American values that they result to gun violence even after a historic “win” in mid-term elections! I think we should make sure all airline security personnel are aware of the sort of people they are dealing with. Any members of the teaparty profile should be subject to a thorough body cavity search. They, after all, are the threat. The rest of us law abiding citizens should not be detained because of their predisposition to violence. I’m not saying we judge them. It is just a natural for a teapartier to be more emotional, more prone to violence, and therefore more likely to engage in poor decision making. They can’t help themselves. Since many conservatives are also members of the NRA, I suggest we get a court order so we can get a list of names from the NRA as to who our most dangerous citizens are.
  • Palin should be charged with conspiracy to commit murder, NOW! It’s time she took responsibility for her actions.
  • The American Reichwing has struck again.
  • This is a symptom of the cancer that is right wing ideology. A symptom with a conservative shooter, probably ironically self described right to lifer.
  • I bet Fox offers him his own show.
  • Now, we should profile teaparty terrorists. After all the Taliban and the teaparty both wish to overthrow our American way of life.
  • This is exactly the kind of radical feelings those on the right hope to instill in people with their lies and misrepresentations. It has served them well at the ballot box for two decades now. It is a strategy of building fear and desperation in the ignorant and uneducated, designed to ensure a vote. Unfortunately, a desperate, ignorant man often strikes out in other ways when he feels threatened. Though an assassination may be tragic and unintended, we cannot ignore the catalyst of vitriol.
  • Previous REPUBLICAN administrations guaranteed this boy would not get the help he needed, because of republican budget cuts to mental health
  • Are you happy now Tea ####? Are you happy that the “Tree of Liberty has been watered with the blood of Tyrants”? Innocent people dead because of the rhetoric of Palin, Beck, Rush, Fox News and every loud mouth idiot on the right. Assassins all.
  • PALIN was the one that spewed her “ready, aim shoot”, PALIN is a trigger. You can pretend all you want to, you can’t change what PALIN said.
  • The philosophy holds that there is no moral purpose higher than furthering one’s own self-interest. There is no room for the mentally ill in a budget prepared by movement ocnservatives.
  • Think Progress posted this video on its YouTube channel back in November, of  Democratic pollster (and former Hillary Clinton campaign manager) Mark Penn arguing that Obama needed “another Oklahoma City” in order to reconnect with the people.
  • Remember Paylin’s bulls eye map? Congresswoman Gifford’s was on it. 2nd amendment remedies spouted in earnest by the nut case Bachmann…talking heads on Radio, Fox talking heads and their junkies all screaming hate for two years, do these people not see what they are doing? There are real consequences to their words and actions? Today we see the end result of all the hate, a dead innocent child who had no idea who any of these clowns are.
  • GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE! They just make it a hell of a lot easier.
  • The fringe is CRAZY, have been inspired to act out their HATE by the Tea Party Candidates INCLUDING and ESECIALLY Palin!
  • Just maybe the Becks, Limbaughs, Palins, of our Country in to be tried TREASON!
  • Actually your statement is probably going to turn out pretty accurate. The congress woman’s own father said, that the Tea Party was her biggest enemy.
  • The NOT-unique aspects of Sarah Palin are simply that she is a poorly uneducated, unwordly, entitled suburban brat who spews violent hate speech at people she hasn’t spent a second trying to understand or empathize with. There is nothing unique about Sarah Palin. In fact, she TYPIFIES the right. The only group she doesn’t represent are the educated country-club conservatives who are right-wing for other reasons, such as economic conservatism and a belief that the USA is the world’s policeman.
  • Because any idiot with $5 can buy a gun, strap it around his waist and walk into a Safeway without anyone blinking an eye in Arizona.
  • Precisely, my friend. There is little difference between most current ‘republican’ teadippers and the frenzied nazi brownshirts that later whined “who could have known Germany gassed the Jews? Not US”.
  • post I`ll have to believe anyone other than an evangelical GOP far right winger, and full fledged Par-tier would be square in the cross hairs on the same map Paylin placed 20 of those she thought deserved to be re-loaded on
  • Yes, I saw the hit list before. This guy puts me in the mind of a Tim Mc Veigh The people who put these seeds of thought in his head should be held accountable.
  • Hint–you are part of the problem not part of the solution with such deranged ideas and beliefs..Guess I better get my I`m American badge out and staple it to my forehead or would you prefer a tattoo for ID?
  • According to his disorganized internet ramblings, he is just a young, newly sickened schizo who didn’t get the help he needed but had ready access to guns and the philosophy of the Tea Party to feed his deranged thoughts.
  • the tea partiers a whole group of folks known for creating false connections and being vitriolic and emotiona
  • We listened to this same type of garbage response when evangelicals were trying to escape responsibility for the murder of Dr.Tiller in his own church. It never ends with your types does it.Always the fault of others for your rhetoric.
  • This is exactly the kind of radical feelings those on the right hope to instill in people with their lies and misrepresentations. It has served them well at the ballot box for two decades now. It is a strategy of building fear and desperation in the ignorant and uneducated, designed to ensure a vote.
  • Is anyone seriously surprsed this finally happened?  When you have pundits like Sarah Palin making maps with target symbols on Congresspeople, coupel that with gun rhetoric and references to violence and revolt in nearly every speech — this is the type of stuff you get.
  • He is a victim of mental illness coupled with the absorption of right-wing violent gun rhetoric and an expiration on gun bans by Republicans/Bush.
  • Even for someone who is as demonstrably stupid as Sarah Palin clearly is, she should have at least had some advisor in her slavish, unctuous, half wit menagerie of toadies, and assorted morons, who could rub two neurons together, and conclude that themes focusingon “symbolic” gestures of acts of violence might actually be enough of an impetus to set off some of her “less than fully stable” admirers (of whom there seem to be very, very many).
  • The only people not smart enough to realize that a teabagger did this are the ones dumb enough to support the tea party.
  • There are all Christian Terrorist ready to commit crimes against our beloved Nation, we should round them all up and place them jail.
  • “Sarah is a evil woman, who will be leader of this country with all her lies. All these people death are down to her she is a vile evil woman I hope she dies.”
  • And so it begins – the TeaPalin Taliban’s war against democracy. NOT Democrats – democracy. It’s rather difficult to resolve the “coincidence” of this assassination attempt and the fascist hate poster one of Palin’s thousand PACs stuck up all over the country with the image of Gabrielle Giffords and a rifle-sight crosshair superimposed over her head. Speaking of “head,” Headless Jan Brewer must be cackling with glee that her “carry a concealed weapon wherever you are” law has borne the fruit she was hoping for so quickly.
  • Good going CNN Media you have been pushing for this and helping to incite the ignorant Republican tea baggers.
  • A Tea Party member was clearly responsible. Brewer is killing people by not allowing transplants.
  • There can be no surprise that some whackos exercising their 2nd amendment rights will now feel emboldened to act. Now they will reap what they have sown.
  • the far right wing hates those that neen help, discrimanate against the poor and down on their luck folks .
  • This Congresswoman was on Sarah Palin’s “hitlist” map!!! Please repost or retweet that hitlist map as much as possible, Sarah Palin needs to be in jail for this BS!!
  • Tea Partier. No doubt in my mind.
  • congrats tea party. finally your wish has come true. you are real americans
  • It had to happen, with all the demonizing Rethugs/TeaP are doing,to mix already unstable people all up~plus a lot os stable ones as well
  • Finally Sarah “bagged” one. I hope this “Christian” is REAL proud of herself.
  • Do Fox News and Frank Luntz finally have blood on their hands they can’t casually dismiss?
  • If she died and the tea-drinkers lies were the cause then we the people should storm the capital and force out all who believe in conservatism!!
  • Media, When will you start treating the right wing extremism as a dangerous cancer. An innocent woman is a victim of the hate and rage of the right. It was just a matter of time that is was going to happen
  • McCain didn’t get his way on DADT so his Teabagger supporters are going to pick off Democrats one by one with Second Amendment solutions? Imagine what they would be doing if he was in the White House.
  • You are right – limbaugh, beck, o;reilly, palin, bachmann, et al – THEY should be held accountable for their hate-mongering – spewing hate and telling people to use guns if the vote doen’t get the result they desire. GO AFTER THE SOURCE OF THIS BEHAVIOR.
  • This event immediately brings thoughts of Palin and the “baggers”.
  • That was my first thought. Had to be a teabagger
  • This is what the Palin Fan club is all about, because they’re all home schooled and caant spehl nuthin. And of course lower taxes mean mohr homscoolin for em all!
  • Palin should be the first one charged with sedition because of what happenned here today.
  • targetted for removal by Sarah, the riflewoman, Palin. Who else is in her crosshairs.
  • The Republican Party has to denounce the right wing radicals ( Palin, Rush, Hannity, O’Rielly)from riling up low information whack jobs. You wouldn’t have some 22 year old (who’s probably mentally challenged in some way) losing it and thinking that he’s doing his country a sevice by taking out someone who has had a ‘target’ put on her by Sarah Palin, if he wasn’t incited to do so.
  • We don’t have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was….
  • Is anyone seriously surprsed this finally happened? When you have pundits like Sarah Palin making maps with target symbols on Congresspeople, coupel that with gun rhetoric and references to violence and revolt in nearly every speech — this is the type of stuff you get.  Yeah, most of us know she’s just saying that because she has no real substance to anything else she says. But people who are already unstable can perceive her as instructive. This is why we need to abandon the culture of violence, guns, and outdated rhetoric. He is a victim of mental illness coupled with the absorption of right-wing violent gun rhetoric and an expiration on gun bans by Republicans/Bush.

There are many-many more examples but I am already over a 2500 word count. I would also like to thank Quad City Examiner and her readers for many of the links I have included in this post. They reminded me of the eight years of Bush Derangement that has escalated basic political rhetoric into win at all costs combative political derangement.

Quinn and Durbin Throw Out Welcome Mat to Terrorists

In what seems like a full-court press by the Dispatch/Argus, QCOnline has posted rah-rah articles from Illinois Politicians, a Brandy Donaldson rah-rah article and even a D/A editorial-parroting of our local politician’s cheerleading ovations about the idea of locating Muslim terrorists at the Thompson Prison located in our district. According to the D/A editorial (which was basically Pat Quinn talking points) it is a huge opportunity to add great paying job/s to the area, while actually having prisoners sited in an expensive prison the State does not use – despite considerable overcrowding in other Illinois prisons.

Well there is no doubt the costly to build and upkeep Thompson prison without tenants was poor planning and implementation by our State government. The Dispatch/Argus readership displayed an unfavorable attitude towards moving the terrorists into a facility so close to the Quad City area in the QCOnline poll they posted. As I stated in my previous post – I personally think the risks far outweigh any possible gains. Still local and State level politicians, now joined by the Dispatch/Argus, continue to ignore the public’s discontent over the decision to pursue jihadist tenants for the prison. Is it a great opportunity to add high-end jobs in the region- probably, though the debate is still ongoing as to the real financial gains! The real question, which the editorial avoided – does the risk outweigh the gains? I suppose it all depends upon how you weigh the risks and gains. Why take the unnecessary risk,  is the real question!

I am not sure why the D/A is on the bandwagon to sell out our safety. But for members of the State of Illinois Government, it is all about the Benjamins.  I believe former Judge John Donald O’Shea hit a homerun in his article/evaluation of the situation. The State of Illinois is so cash strapped from years of reckless State Government waste and corruption that they are willing risk the safety of the citizens of this district and State to gather in the considerable cash the Obama administration will offer to the State that houses these dangerous criminals.

You say how can they be dangerous? After all they will be locked up under strict supervision by prison and military personnel. So what? That has never stopped any other dangerous criminals from operating their dirty activities from behind bars. Sympathetic lawyers can act as go between among locked-up criminals and outside criminal cohorts. Guards can make mistakes. Some guards could even be sympathetic to their causes. All it takes is one jihadist like the recent terrorist, whom murdered many military personnel in Fort Hood Texas, to create a similar event of terror at the local level. Plus once on mainland soil some hate on America organization,  like the ACLU, will be doing their best to make it possible for these jihadists to lessen any restrictions that prison/military/government  offcials attempt create. It is what they do. Those types of nutroot organizations motto is  -screw the average citizen and let the criminals can wreak havoc on society. It makes no sense to move these terrorists to mainland USA and create risk. There is no justice here that cannot be served in the more appropriate GITMO prison, where they are already located. But our greedy Governor Pat Quinn along with Senator Dick Durbin and many other government  that are supposed to be serving the citizens of the State of Illinois have got dollar signs in their eyes. The politicians are willing to throw out a welcome mat to terrorists and risk the safety of the citizens of this State and District for thirty pieces of silver from the Obama Administration.
