Clinton Falls on the Sword for Team Obama

In recent interviews Hillary Clinton accepted blame for the security failures that resulted in the death of US Government personnel in Libya. She also blamed the White House confusion over whether it was a terrorist attack as the “fog of war“. Both were smart moves on her behalf. Of course neither statement wrests away the label of incompetency surrounding Team Obama, as the White House continued to fumble the actual events, during numerous erroneous attempts to present the terrorist attack, as little more than a  flash mob event. Team Obama still looks confused and dazed about the who, what, why, when and how and all of the implications connected to the terrorist attack on the US. When foreseeable disaster occurs, someone in management has to accept the blame. For Clinton to accept the blame was probably the best case scenario for her, as Barack Obama was looking for someone to throw under the bus as a sacrificial lamb. Throwing those who serve him under the bus, when his False Prophet persona faces adversity, has become his trademark. Clinton’s falling on the sword to reduce Team Obama damage from further bad press, actually makes her look more presidential material than Obama will ever be.

Wind Power Gasping for Air – Erie asking Where’s the beef

I see where subsiding for wind power my be on its last leg, under a new budget. I guess that makes it put up or shut up time for those hawking the benefits and savings from wind power. I personally hope that wind power “will” have a future, if we are to ever free ourselves from spending money with countries like Venezuela and Middle Eastern countries that will take much of that money and use it on anti-American propaganda and in some cases fund terrorist groups that will use violence on the US and/or allies. But as much as I hope it has a future, I am not sold it will.  The industry faces performance expectation obstacles that includes cost of maintenance financial difficulties,  plus NIMBY issues, even from Big National Supporters  – like the late Ted “and when I returned – Mary Jo and the car was gone” Kennedy.

It was around four years ago when the little town of Erie, Illinois – about a ½ hour drive Northeast from the Quad Cities – eagerly jumped both feet into wind power, hoping to reap savings for their school system. They also ran into a NIMBY hurdle from a local big shot, whose farm the windmill encroached.  The problems were settled and the windmill built. But evidently the expected windfalls for the school system has not happened. Last year, the press reported that Erie was considering selling off its windmill operation as it has underperformed for the town. The last reports I read sounded as if the town was still asking – Where’s the beef? There was supposed to be a board discussion in late September of 2011, but I have yet to see any reports that give a final answer on the subject of staying the course versus selling off the windmill. That new technology underperforms is no big surprise. But if wind power is going to be a part of freeing the world from funding evil empires like Hugo Chavez and Iranian Mullahs,  it must learn to stand on its own two legs and operate at nominal expectations. The Erie School experiment has not been very promising. At the very best, it seems that the project is gasping for air.

Stewart – Colbert Rally an Event of Truthiness

Pop star comediennes Stewart and Colbert took their political comedy to the road. They created what was sold as an effort to restore sanity to American politics through comedy.  Stewart is usually funny using a  “Early SNL” and “Not Necessarily the News“  style of political comedy. I find Colbert more talented but he can have a vicious routine that quickly turns me off.   I understand the event was big, though to steal a term from Colbert – the events stated purpose rings of  “truthiness“.

First off,  it is hard to restore something – that has never been.  Politics has never been a fuzzy and warm, exchange except in the minds of those whom prefer to cloud their memory with fairy tales.  It has only gotten worse following the siege of the major political parties by  Progressive Statists; mostly comprised of ambulance-chasing  lawyers and career politicians trained in the arts of wealth-inducing job security over statesmanship.  Until the Democrats and Republicans purge their organizations of the Progressive Statists – expect no resemblance of sanity in politics.

And most importantly; it is hard to believe the leftwing leaning Stewart and Colbert had had any intention of trying to restore sanity in politics when one of the headliners was Muslim voice Cat Stevens whom publicly defended the death warrant issued on author Salman Rushdie by Extremist Muslim Terrorist Clerics.  A real Stupid is as Stupid does decision by Stewart-Colbert. That is a vintage Barack Obama characteristic being displayed by Stewart and Colbert. Obama has surrounded himself with radicals, extremists and even former domestic terrorists as advisers – while pretending do be a peacemaker and a moderate, instead of the Marxist wannabe he actually is. Now Stewart and Colbert claim they are looking for sanity in politics – yet bring on a radical that defends mafia style hits by Muslim Extremists. Interesting – hard to take them serious. But then they are part of the Hollyweird extremist community. Hollyweird an organization of plastic people that live out their lives, pretending to be the real people they are incapable of being, and  not a group I normally find laudable when offering advice on life.

Was the event good comedy? Probably. Was it a meaningful liberal political statement? Maybe. Will it be great money-grubbing advertising  gimmick for Stewart and Colbert?  Definitely. But -Restoring Sanity- in politics, um… not so much! Just a couple of funny boys using “truthiness” to grab a little more ego-filling attention.

Eco Terrorist Holds his Parasites Hostage

Media sources are making claims that an environmental activist -James J Lee-  is the person responsible for holding individuals hostage at the Discovery Channel offices. Stupid is as stupid does. I would like to say that it surprises me that some leftwinger is threatening a building full of people and babies – but it doesn’t. Evidently Mr. Lee has created a manifesto with statements condemning Human presence on the planet. And using  leftwing ideology similar to that used to support abortions, Mr. Lee considers children and newborn babies as parasites as well as supports what sounds like extremist  Zero Population Growth beliefs.  AS I said I would like to believe that Lee is just a lonegun extremist: but if so, then I would have to accept the city-like population of nutcases that post similar hatred on sites like the Democratic Underground are not mainstream Progressive Liberals. I would have to accept that the leftwing support for eco-terrorist groups like Green Peace and destructive animal liberation groups is not a major part of the Progressive Liberal movements. I would have to consider that hate spewing Hollyweird Liberals wishing death and destruction  – such as Huffington Post contributor John Cusacks recent tirade, as linked to by local blogger QCGhost- were not part of the normal Progressive Liberal agendas. But all those types of hate speech and acts of domestic terrorism have  become the norm for the Progressive Liberals to embrace. It has even reached into the levels of the White House as some of President Obamas close supporters   include black separatists like Rev. Wright. It includes multiple advisers that were former members  of the Domestic Terror group the Weathermen.  It includes numerous references championing the mass murderer Mao Tse Tung as well as freedom hating Hugo Chavez  by Obama advisers. And when you point out all the ties of Progressive Liberals to hate groups and domestic terrorists they try and deflect the conversation away from those ties.  So as much as I would like to think that the leftwing liberals have not tied their political fortunes to extremists like James Lee – the constant reminders of connections, actions and events of those links  – say otherwise. Stupid is as stupid does.

Prohibition – A Failed Noble Experiment

I don’t consume alcohol, I don’t smoke and I am constantly getting into squabbles with medical professionals over prescription medicines they prescribe for my various aches and pains. My biggest vices are habitually playing Mega Millions Lotto, drinking copious amounts of caffeine-free Mt. Dew & Lemonade,  a crippling weakness for fine chocolate and a never-ending penchant to chase women that are way faster than I am. All of which probably makes the following post seem out of character.

From 1920 through 1933 the United States of America tried a noble experiment by banning the sale and consumption of alcohol. It failed miserably. The liquor industry simply went underground. People that wanted to drink still managed to find alcohol to satisfy their habit. The booze they drank was unregulated in its manufactured quality/safety and the only people and organizations that benefited from the Prohibition of alcohol was the criminals and crooked politicians. The whole era was one of intense criminal activity that created a dangerous environment for the public as well as the honest personnel among the law enforcement and government. Banning the sale  and usage was a far  worse experience than the problems experienced when alcohol was legal. Which brings me to today’s rant.

There is  probably not a person who knows me personally or that has listened to me rant that has not been made aware of my disdain for individuals abusing illegal narcotics. I have had acquaintances, relatives and coworkers that have completely tripped my trigger having to put up with their stoned bodies and minds when they were supposed to be busy living life. Over the years I have seen changes in the way I feel it best to address the problem of illegal narcotics. Heck sometimes I change my assessment daily. The one thing that has become more apparent over the years is that much like the USA previous approach of prohibiting alcohol – the governments prohibition of narcotics has been a similar failure. Illegal drug use  rampant and the only people and organizations benefiting from the current prohibition is criminals and crooked politicians. The public along with the honest people among law enforcement and government all continue to face danger from the criminal elements pushing and using the illegal drugs. Now I do not think that  we can simply legalize drugs to solve the problem. But more and more I think we have to consider some sort of legalization of soft drugs like marijuana, such as California is considering,  as well as some sort of regulated availability of other drugs similar to the way we regulate alcohol and cigarettes.  The more I consider it, the more the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. It will take a huge bite out of terrorist funds and the South American drug kingpins billionaire lifestyle. It will also kick city street gangs and the mafia squarely in the  groin by reducing the drug  markets that make them wealthy. It will allow us to redirect a lot of money now spent fighting illegal drug trafficking into programs similar to those we use to help alcoholics and those addicted to cigarettes. It will also help the country as we can control costs while also  heavily taxing the product as we do other dangerous vices. It is worth a try because the current war on drugs version of prohibition, seems to be a losing cause for the US citizenry and a win-win for the criminal elements – just like the original prohibition of alcohol in the 20′s and 30′s.

The Sounds of Silence

The last of the US Navy Seals wrongfully put on trial –> has been found not guilty, just as his predecessors. These military men  were  robustly accused of brutality to a captured Iraqi terrorist and  savagely persecuted by leftwing howlers and relentlessly hassled by the Obama worshiping  mainstream media. The Bush Deranged  Howlers along with their lapdog media were looking for someone, anyone that they could prosecute and persecute as a symbol against George Bush and the Iraq War . Those quick to convict the men even tried to get them to plead out and avoid any kind of a trial. The mob was not interested in justice or even to know if the men were guilty – they just wanted blood! The Seals chose to stand and fight their accuser and the lynch-mobs seeking to persecute them. Now that they have all been exonerated – the silence from the accusers is deafening! Where are all the mea culpas from those pundits and the mainstream media seeking to lynch the accused without a trial! I suspect some of the media will run a mea culpa story hidden in some darkened attic corner of their periodical near the classified sections. But mostly all we will hear are the sounds of silence.

More Media and Congressional Hypocrisy

During the Bush Administration the Media and Congress went spastic trying to learn what Scooter Libby and Karl Rove did or did not know about leaked information resulting in the exposure of a CIA operative. The Congress held widely publicized investigations and the Mainstream Media feed the public daily/ nightly doses of the latest scandal and innuendo about the outing of a CIA operative.  The political fox hunt eventually lead to Libby’s receiving a federal conviction, a hefty fine and being disbarred from practicing law, though little jail time was actually served (supported by the Bush and Obama legal teams). I am not going to argue the evidence and/or merits of the Libby  trial. Like most political events – the events surrounding the trial will be discussed, argued and spun by professional historians seeking to temper their standing as significant scholars. But I do ask, where has all that passionate  rage -among the Media and Congress- towards those that would play political games with our intelligence agents ability to perform their spy games.

Why has there been such dead silence from those self-appointed Media and Congressional watchdogs previously seeking to nail Rove and Libby to the cross – during the latest spy scandal outings! Why is it – those same Big Game Hunters have not been all over the scandal involving ACLU lawyers apparently hiring investigators to obtain pictures of CIA agents involved in interrogating terrorist suspects to turn over to the terrorist defense teams. Evidently some of these agents pictures were later found in the jail cell of Al Qaeda terror suspects. Where is that same outrage towards the ACLU and Terrorist defense lawyers that the Media and Congress trackers used to hunt down Libby? It is not a new case. The outing of US intelligence officers by the ACLU was already an issue back in 2009.  Where are those same highly publicized Congressional investigations and the Mainstream Media Circus demanding justice for the outing of not one,  but the outing of multiple intelligence officers by the ACLU? Can you smell the media and congressional hypocrisy!

Reality Strikes- Car Bomb Found In Times Square

In what looks like there has been another attempted act of jihadist terrorism in New York City- Police were called to the scene of a suspicious looking car emitting smoke, located near Times Square. The police assume they have found a failed car bomb created from gasoline and propane designed to be set off electronically. The information I read was sketchy as the police were still looking for an individual that had run from the scene. The probable car bomb was described as similar to ones used in London attacks by Islamic Jihadists. The ones in London also used shrapnel such as nails to enhance possible collateral damage. There was no mention -either yes or no- of any nails or shrapnel material being found in the Times Square vehicle.

What makes the Jihadist car bomb possibility so believable is, that it is no secret that damaging any high profile target in NYC – is very  high on the Islamic Terrorist wish list.  I guess it is now a waiting game. First the police will have to acknowledge it was a genuine car bomb. If they do confirm it, then it is a matter of either the police to catch the attempted bomber and/or confession of the individual or group responsible.

I guess sometime, reality bites! Team Obama, in a stupid is as stupid does moment,  has been busy using the media to paint the Tea Party protesters and anyone else, that objects to his personal leftist agenda, as thugs and potential terrorists. Meanwhile, the violence to date has been perpetrated by Obama zealots -like his SEIU Union thugs- trying to destroy the Tea party movement, enabling out to sanctuary illegal aliens from expulsion and radicals seeking to force their global warming/green agendas on the whole world. Perhaps this will be a wake-up call for Team Obama. Perhaps he will stop his cry-wolf attacks against the Tea Party and those that oppose his far left agenda. Perhaps he will quit playing political rhetoric games and address the real terrorists. As the real bad guys – are still out in the real world trying to create terror.

More on the suspected car bomb.

UPDATE

Despite early US rejection of the claim accepting responsibility for the attempted car bombing of Time Square,  by a Pakistani terror group- it is being reported by some media sources that the current person of interest is a naturalized American citizen that spent time in Pakistan and has been in recent contact with individuals within Pakistan.

The AP is reporting that a Pakistani male suspect wanted in connection to the Times Square car bomb has been arrested attempting to leave the US, at JFK Airport in NY.

TV Series 24 to End this Season

The following is a quote from the television series “24″.

I see fifteen people held hostage on a bus, and everything else goes out the window. I will do whatever it takes to save them, and I mean whatever it takes. … Laws were written by much smarter men than me. And in the end, these laws have to be more important than the 15 people on the bus. I know that’s right. In my mind, I know that’s right. I just don’t think my heart could ever have lived with it.

Fox has announced that this will be the last season for their hit television show “24″, which had the fictional character Jack Bauer fighting fictional terrorist attacks being perpetrated in the USA! I was kind of a late comer to the television show. I did not have access to the Fox channel for most of the early seasons, so I had to catch “24″ on replay when it was broadcast on  satellite channels. Some of those seasons I missed part or all of the episodes. It was an easy  series to like that happened on the scene at a time period where the USA had been attacked by real terrorists.  The right show at the right time to captivate an audience.  Besides what was a ground breaking format for story telling, a crucial part of what  made the show interesting, was the Bauer character’s willingness to do whatever information extraction methods “he felt” necessary, to prevent  disaster. There will be a movie spin-off but I will miss tuning into the weekly series.

The last few years -in real life- the US populace has been split on the value of harsh intelligence agency  interrogation techniques.  In the fictional television series “24″, Jack Bauer has usually pushed the envelope of using harsh techniques to obtain his intelligence information. A trend of the series, was reflecting what was happening in real life US political scenes – in the real life battle between pro and con usage of extreme interrogation methods.  There are those that wish to make even harsher restrictions on what the US Intelligence Agencies can or cannot do during interrogation of terrorist suspects. My personal reflections are split on the real life issue. I can understand the moral objections and information value issues that can be argued by both sides of the conflict. But in the end I tend to agree with the Bauer quote I included at the top of this post. I think you have to give Intelligence agencies the ability to do their job when dealing with terrorists. I am a big believer in living life by the rules. But I am also am a believer that when terrorists/adversaries do not play by the current rules then – you change the rule book to level the playing field. We can only hope there are real life Jack Bauers – those willing to take personal and professional risks, by bucking the slow moving US  bureaucracy – that real terrorists count on-  that tends to hamper the safety of US citizens from terror attacks.
