Russia Struts Its Military Might in Venezuela

In a move that may or may not be related to the increased US presence of naval ships in the Black Sea as the US sends aid to the country of Georgia, the USSR is set to send fighter planes and warships to partake in military exercises with the Hugo Chavez ruled country of Venezuela. A Russian spokesman has stated that the exercises were planned before the recent Russian invasion of Georgia. Yet according to an article by Ian James – it was just last week when Russian Prime Minister Vlad Putin announced that Russia would send a response to display it’s displeasure about the US military ships in the Black Sea delivering aid to Georgia. Sigh, when the romance is gone and love turns sour – the people surrounding the two ex-lovers always seem to suffer as much as the two jilted lovers. It was just about a year ago when Putin dumped George Bush for a quickie affair with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Now less than year from that date Putin is now sharing his manhood with Hugo Chavez. Wow – talk about a bed-hopping player. It makes you wonder if the Putin/Mahmoud affair was just a casual fling or if they have an open relationship going on. Can you smell the frosty bite of another possible USA/Russian Cold War on the horizon? 😦 I suppose it is time to start practicing those duck and cover exercises from the 50’s and 60’s, catching up on those Post-Apocalyptic Cold War novels like Alas Babylon & On The Beach , clean the cobwebs out of those old nuclear fallout shelters, start storing up extra supplies of food/water and medical kits. Maybe even a radiation detector would be a great addition to your home. Well that’s all for now I gotta go see what kind of buy I can get on radiation suits – the total body condoms.

Update

The long range Russian bombers to take part in the military exercise have landed in Venezuela.
