Hollywood Seeks to Protect Polanski from Justice

What do Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Scorcese, Debra Winger, Harvey Weinstein, Woody Allen, David Lynch, Wim Wenders, Pedro Almodovar, Tilda Swinton and Monica Bellucci all have in common besides being part of the professional entertainment industry? They are all a part of a growing circle of the entertainment industry out to protect Roman Polanski from facing justice for his crime of child rape. Hollywood, as usual, seems to think that their  “entertainment circle jerks ” are above the law. They are aghast that he has been arrested and now faces extradition to the USA for his crime. I have read the summary and the minutes, posted on The Smoking Gun,  from the Polanski grand jury so I cannot tell whether the Hollywood elitists are just clueless or just do not care that a teenage minor was drugged with alcohol and quaaludes and then raped by a middle aged man. The world will be watching to see if the rich and infamous Polanski will pay for his crime or if fat cat lawyers and political pressure from the Hollyweirdo community  will manage to keep justice at bay. In my personal estimation the man should face the maximum prison time available for his crime plus one year added to the sentence for every year that has evaded justice. By then he should be way past one hundred years old and even the help of Viagra if he felt the urge to molest any other young girls. And to the Hollywood community seeking to hide Polanski from punishment I offer up a heartfelt one finger salute.

Perhaps most telling of Polanski’s attitude about the whole affair is from a Polanski quote from an LA Times article included in the Ed Driscoll link above:

“If I had killed somebody, it wouldn’t have had so much appeal to the press, you see? But… f—ing, you see, and the young girls. Judges want to f— young girls. Juries want to f— young girls. Everyone wants to f— young girls!”

😡 Ouch! 😡

  1. I want to go on record here to say that I do not now, nor have I ever had the desire to f*ck young girls and that Whoopie Goldberg is a major embarrassment to our gender with her “not a rape-rape” twaddle.

Jeez, these people are just pathetic.

  2. I guess I am just too simple too understand how these Hollywood stars -most of whom claim to be do-gooders- can just ignore the damage Polanski has done. You would think most of Hollywood Womens Activists would be out trying to have the man castrated for what he did. Reading what he did to that girl made my blood boil.

  3. Maybe Hollywood “Jumped the Shark” … or better yet, will get their left leg chewed off by rational people that have had enough.

Why does anyone listen to “The View” of nuts like Whoopie? I remember her arguing that we didn’t really go to the moon moon … it was staged. Maybe she is a conservative plant to discredit the left, except there are so many lefty nuts rationalizing these attacks on children.

Good point Scoundrel .. besides doing time for the crime, what about the crime of running from justice?

  4. Bill, I rarely agree with Whoopi Goldberg on political issues. But I just assume that anyone who is as much of an advocate for womens rights as she is, would be appalled – not discounting, of Polanski’s behavior. Personally I hope Polanski withdraws his guilty plea if they ever get him back to the US. But I cannot see his lawyers allowing his to that. It was way too much of a sweetheart deal to toss away if he gets drawn back into the US justice system. If he withdraws it he could get stuck facing a real statutory rape charge as well as drugging a minor. As the charges currently stand I understand he could do less than year for his crimes. That is hardly a real punishment if you compare to punishments we hand out for similar and even less than sexual predatory crimes.

  5. This article is in reality the most poignant on this noteworthy topic. I agree with your conclusions and will hungrily look forward to your upcoming updates.
