Freedoms Lost

I have said from the beginning that Obamacare was never really about health care reform. It is and always has been about a power grab by statist progressives wanting to further their Nanny State ideology. They will use the wording built into the legislation to expand the Nanny State, where the government gets to decide “who lives and who dies”.  They have already used the legislation to take one step closer to legally using federal funds for abortions – when they got the pro-life Democrat group to surrender for a limited engagement minstrels song and dance called a Presidential Executive Order. Over on Investors Business Daily politics and market blog, David Hogberg made his list of twenty personal and business freedoms lost under Obamacare. As the 2000 plus page legislation continues to be researched and debated in public and  the court systems, many more freedoms will be surrendered to the Progressive Nanny State.

  1. I don’t quite understand how basic health care is so ‘evil.’ When was Christ ever against health care?

  2. I understand now it is in how it relates to business. It’s not actually about the human benefit. It’s the profit margin you’re worried about. Am I wrong?

  3. b&b I did not or ever have stated that basic health care is evil. In fact I have repeatedly posted the country is badly in need of health care reform. Obamacare is not the answer. It is a bloated Frankenstein corpse that deserved a quick death. Government is a failure when it comes to operating these types of programs. Medicare, Medicaid, the educational system, the Post Office etc… -they are all teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Now they want to do the same for everybody’s health care. As much as I wish it was not so – profit margin does have a lot to do with health care. Health care is a business. Business without profit margin is stagnant.

As to Christ – I am not sure how he is relevant to government operated health care. According to scripture, Christ’s version of health care was a laying on of the hands. His blood sacrifice was the only insurance he promoted.

  4. Looking on the bright side—or trying, I guess “free” abortions mean that even more liberals will abort themselves even more often (Roe Effect) which ultimately means fewer little Hares running around in the future to push for statist
government—it might even mean the end of liberalism, which would be a good thing.

This is really pushing the “plus” side of taxpayer funded abortions to the breaking point, but it’s the best I could do.
